what's your favorite and why?

Since there's not a huge difference circuit wise between BF fenders (reverb, power tubes, SS or tube rectifiers) besides speaker configs, what about the speaker configuration of your favorite do you like?

And for the amp modders out there, how does a fender power section react to a marshall tone stack driving it hard? I'm sure it wont get the upper mid distortion of a marshall, im just curious to know how the 6l6's behave in that scenario.

I love the Vibrolux Reverb as others like Eric Johnson have as well.

My 66 Pro Reverb...

40 watts,2x12s,and a clean tone to die for! Just a great overall amp..Put some pedals in front of it and you can cover alot of ground...

Next would be the BF Deluxe Reverb amp....Same sceario but rated for 22 watts and with a 1x12 speaker...

I Like Weber speakers in my PR...5AR4 rectifier, RCA Black Plate 6L6s,and RCA 12AX7s.....Next time I'll retube with tubes available to us now though...

Pro reverb with 12" speaker. It has decent power but not too much.

i really wish they had a pro reverb reissue...it's sounds like a twin with half the watts and a tube rectifier....

I'm stuck between a deluxe and a twin, because for a new amp there's nothing in between!!!!

Me too. The super reissue is 40 watts but it has 4 10s.

I kinda partial to my DRRI. I just bought it a few weeks ago and I love it! My first Fender amp. I think if they ever reissued the Pro Reverb I'd be very tempted to buy one.

Actually, my favorite is the newer 64 Vibroverb Diaz modded Custom Shop amp, but I also love Pro Reverbs and Super Reverbs. I'm kinda partial to 6L6's over 6V6's.

I only own one Black Face amp.... a vintage 1965 non Reverb Deluxe..... I got it fixed up and working last year... I still need to take it into a better "amp doctor" i know for fine tuning. It is cool with a stock strat thru it..... wish i had a real 60's strat to play thru it as well but i only have one stock strat and that's a texmex....

I've only had the chance to play a Vibrolux, Vibroking, Deluxe, and a Super, havent played a pro or a Vibroverb(which i think id like), but out of those I have played, probabally Deluxe with Vibrolux close second.

what does the 4x10 make it sound like versus a 2x12?

The mids are different,as are the lows..The 4x10s push more air and to me,give off a more spacial spread to the tone....10s honk and 12's hunk....

The 12s seem just a bit warmer in the lows and low mids...
