what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

When I want to use pedals with headphones, I use my Fender Performer 650, which is a mid-90's hybrid combo, into a dummy speaker load, speaker off, parallel out to a Hughes & Kettner Red Box 5 cabinet emulator, then on to a small Mackie mixer with a headphone jack. Fully Rube Goldberg approved.

Peavey Bandit - 80w solid state 1x12
A couple years ago, I was using a Crate combo amp with essentially the same specs.
I got full enjoyment from both of these amps. I can keep it quiet for bedroom-level playing, and I can still get loud if I have the opportunity.

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

my first amp was a PARK by Marshall and then a VOX ad30 vt xl (i did not like it)
roland micro cube
vox da5
laney lc 15 -110
marshall sl5
Marshall mg2fx something like that

first amp :))

i think i want to try a VHT but i don't know if it's really loud to have fun with it but
the sounds sound like a VOX and for me it's good

i have not try the ORANGE AMPS

I use a Marshall Valvestate Head 8100 and a 4x12 Cabinet with Celestion G12T75 at home. It sounds good even when turned down to volumes quieter than the instrument itself... And it sounds good at high volumes, too.

I have a little 5 watt Defender class A tube amp by Kustom. Its been modded, but it sounds great for bedroom levels. One 12ax7 in preamp and one EL84 power tube.

LOL a Major.Yeah I second the Major. Great low volume tube amp for the bedroom. They are not that loud and nice to play LMAO. And they are only what 200watts sh__ thats nothing.

Lately I've been using Blackstar Fly 3 for practicing at home. I just run it off the batteries and can sit on the couch and fiddle around on it. The lack of cables and wall outlet is nice, and while you shouldn't expect a ton of gain, it does have a pretty decent sound to it.

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

look at these roland cube :)))) loil

There's also a couple of supros to the left, clean JC120's were popular with a few 80's UK bands blended with a crunchy valve amp.
I would guess this is a smaller quieter version of this rig with the cubes replacing the jc's.
I'm tempted to get a cube to try it myself

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

these amps are digital
it's really strange to see that for a very big and professional band for a huge arena

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

forgot... I also use my ART SGX 2000 as a practice/headphone amp from time to time.. MUCH more responsive that the GR4/PC but i still prefer that to the sgx..I might experiment with some IR's and run the SGX through the PC interface but i suspect my overall problem is the interface.. Still the SGX still has many usable sounds considering its age IMO so it wont be a total waste of time. Even being as old as it is. the SGX has some really nice and warm cleans and chorus. The distortions are very much a hit and miss affair BUT the sounds are in there. Just got find them

My girfriend screaming various stuff. Controls are out of the reach a little but the volume is loud enough to wake up neighbours.
