what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

Honestly for bedroom setups, a digital setup like Bias FX or a good preamp in front of a speaker simulator is much better than any solid state or tube amp turned down low.

Yes, I use Bias FX more often. The only thing is having to be next to a computer.

I use both my Friedman Smallbox Head and my ENGL Powerball 2. Both of this sounds great at bedroom level. If late at night or if I want the Power amps to work a bit harder I use my Torpedo Reload as it won't alter the sound.

Peavey Classic 20 gets the most play. After that, it's the Blackstar 1 watt.

Also digging the Ibanez TSA15 with CMAT Mods Brownie & MXR M300 Reverb with a Carbon Copy through a Marshall 2x12. Fish 'n' Chips EQ to top it off.

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

All my amps sound good at really soft/bedroom volumes..but the two Laboga The Beast's (Classic 30 & 30 Plus) I just got have headphone outputs & speaker defeat (dummy load) switches so I can play them LOUD at zero room volume :D

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

120w 5150 clone with 2 power tubes pulled (for 60w) & a volume choke box across the FX loop

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

Friedman BE100
Soldano SLO
Bogner Ecstasy 100b
VHT Pittbull
CAA PT100
Marshall '59 PlexiHW

Roland Cube 40 XL ( with power squezer on)
Randall Diavlo RD 1 ( i found this one ideal for silent practicing)
Blackheart Handsome Devil, on 7 watt setting ( it's actually still too loud)
Guitar Rig 5, or Overloud TH2 ( only for the recording)

Does anyone here actually play guitar in their bedroom? Bedrooms are for sleeping, clothes storage, and fun activities that rarely involve guitars.

If you mean general home usage, i just use the iRig. I'm way to lazy to set my live rig up at home unless I'm trying to dial something in.

I keep a sorta secondary rig in my bedroom??? A little 5W Class A amp, some spare effects, & the majority of my guitars are all in there for the sake of space anyhow....

When playing at home I play in my living room for the most part but if the wife is out there & I want to play I can without too much hassle, or I can go play in my basement because I've got a bunch of stuff down there as well!!!

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

I have recently discovered that the Marshall JMD1 is great at home playing even through a Vintage 30. It sounds as good with the master volume on 1 or less as it does on 5 or more.

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

I've been enjoying the Rectifier gain voicing on my Cube 01 when playing at TV volumes. It chuncks and thumps, and I can still hear the phone ring...

The best amp for the bedroom is the biggest and best sounding one you can fit without causing police to show up or family members to disown you - unless you wanted them to all along.

I play through my 5-watt tube Randall RVC in my bedroom. I sounds alright. :)

I store and use all my guitar kit in my bedroom and the adjacent walk-in closet. Due to living arrangements, there are no other options. The only exception is a hollowbody jazz guitar in the living room.
