Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?
I believe in practicing with what I play out. I see no point in trying to dial in tones on a small amp that is a different brand than what I use. I want to know my gig amps inside and out, so that's what I practice on. Fortunately the Mesas sound good at low volume and the Mark Series amps have switchable power. Some amps I've used over the years like Peavey get loud really early in the dial, and my old JCM 800 Marshall sounded like crap at anything less than the MV on 5.
And volume is not usually an issue, nor is weight. We have a suburban house, no kids. Neighbors are close but as long as I don't get too loud late at night I'm good. For late, I've got my Martin dreads and they're plenty loud.
For guys in thin-walled apartments, or guys that have kids or a spouse doing shift work though, I get it. The guy living in a 5th floor walk-up isn't going to want to lug a Twin Reverb home every night.
I'm in a great situation, for sure.
