My 30w Spider IV if I'm just playing in my room (or gigging of course), but I love the Micro Cube if I'm moving around anywhere else, I just put it in a backpack with my cables and go!

When I have to be really quiet it's either my Blackheart killer ant (1w) or my Hotone Heartattack (5w ss). If I can absolutely make no noise at all: iPod touch with amplitube and headphones.

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

when i see all the combos, i don't find a good one

digital vs 5w ( very loud)
so

i think it will be better with a Guitar Amp Head + a cabinet ?? like some guys have

Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 18 head on 1W setting, Marshall 4x12.

Emery SuperBaby into Randall 1x12 Celestion.

Tech21 SansAmp PSA-1 into a Vox AC30 or BOSS personal monitor.

Fender Champion 600

Orange AD50 into Randall 1x12 Celestion.

I currentlly have a MicroTerror that I love for practicing. Depending on the gig you could also use it outside the bedroom, the little suckers are loud.

I am thinking about grabbing a DSL15 head for the bedroom/office. I like the idea of going down to 7 watts and I am becoming more and more of a Marshall guy.

If I had to pick from that list, I would absolutely go with the Black Star HT1. I'd personally go HT5 but thats just me.
My Bedroom amp would be a Mesa Boogie Mark V 25 Head with a Single 12 Mesa Cab Loaded V30.

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

My favorite practice rig for a long time was a Vox Valvetronix AD60VTH (blue grill head) on top of a Bogner 212 V30 cab. I could get any tone out of it, and it has a variable wattage selector on the back panel.

Now, I mostly use my Bad Cat Cougar 50 head on the Bogner 212, or plug into my vintage Fender Pro Reverb or Matchless Chieftain. They're not exactly bedroom amps, but they all sound good at room volume.

If anyone's interested, I'm selling the mint Valvetronix 60W head for $350. You won't be disappointed.

I played those Vox blue grills at one point. They do Marshall better than Marshall.

Re: what's your best amp for your bedroom ?

I love my Roland Cube 60, I'd love a smaller one to use exclusively for the bedroom playing, but the 60 still sounds good turned down, so it's really just convenience for me.

Well, the DSL15H will still shake walls and rattle windows on the 7 watts setting through a single 12" V30. So just a friendly heads up. That's with the red channel master only on about 3.5. It can still hang with acoustic drums using the red channel. The green channel isn't as loud but probably still too loud for quiet bedroom or office playing.

I use a micro cube for quiet situations as well. However, once I was at my brother's apartment, while he was kicked out of his own house by his soon to be X wife, and had the micro cube at normal TV levels. The people just below still started pounding the floor with a broom handle and yelling to "turn the stereo down!." Just can't win.
