I like the Boss SD-2 Dual Overdrive, OD-3 Overdrive, SD-1 Super Overdrive, BD-2 Bluesdriver. I make a living playing guitar in a Rock/Blues Band, and these pedals come through with great tone at every gig. :)

Boss OD/Distortions! All of the above are on my Boss ME-50 :)

Re: What's your favorite Boss Overdrive Pedal?

Def like the Super Overdrive best out of the Boss pedals.

Never cared much for the DS-1 years and years ago, but after reading a few interesting threads here, I may give it another try.

Re: What's your favorite Boss Overdrive Pedal?

The original OD-1 is the best, followed by the SD-1, BD-1, OD-3

The DS-1 is a distortion pedal

Re: What's your favorite Boss Overdrive Pedal?

The OS-2 is the only one i own. Once i get it to SD97 I think it's gonna
be back on the top of my Favorite list. :D

You're right about the DS-1 being classified as a distortion pedal, but: You can also use it solely as a boost or an overdrive via the adjustment knobs on the DS-1..
:)

Re: What's your favorite Boss Overdrive Pedal?

My faves (and I've tried them all, believe me) are the BD2 Blues Driver and the OD3 overdrive. The first time i put the BD@ into a light smooth crunch mode with a lot of level and fed it to my Boogie when it was in a bad mood ;) I was amazed at what it did for the tone. What happened was what i call "The Venus Effect", the amps overall character, tone, attack, and sustain increased but the basic sound remained the same. It basically gave the amp more of what it already had and then some.

My OD3 is more Tubescreamery, and more vintagey than the BD2, and its great for getting uber-smooth solo tones. :smoker:

Re: What's your favorite Boss Overdrive Pedal?

sd-1 is pretty much a ts-9

i like my modded blues driver the best

but i'm getting another mod dropped in my ds-1 soon, should make it more usable

Re: What's your favorite Boss Overdrive Pedal?

You guys keep talking like this and I'm going to become a pedal hound...

LOL thats pretty much what happened to me. I'm a complete pedal geek and will be the first to admit it. Pedals are a weird wonderful world that exists somewhere between car engines and candy. :32:

As long as they haven't replaced sports, boobs, or beer :).

I vote for the SD-1, but I wouldn't take it over my woman. Even on a bad day.

Re: What's your favorite Boss Overdrive Pedal?

I keep coming back to the Super OverDrive and the DS-1.

The DS-1 will probably go to Keeley for mods; it's almost unusable in some settings.

The Super OverDrive isn't getting touched. That thing has been my Holy Grail of sound since I picked it up for chump change.

Re: What's your favorite Boss Overdrive Pedal?

ive been using a sd1 since i was 15 years old

Re: What's your favorite Boss Overdrive Pedal?

When it comes to Overdrive pedals, to a degree it depends on the Amp being used. I use a modded TS9 (Stratdeluxer97) that is the OD I use in my Super Reverb Amp. I have a TS9 RI that I use with my Carvin X Amp from time to time as well. In my Marshall I really don't need much, but I have a original Marshall Blues breaker that I use to give it a push when I need a little more. I also have a Super OD that I used for many years before I switched to the Tubescreamer. This also is an excellent pedal!!

Re: What's your favorite Boss Overdrive Pedal?

Barber Direct Drive and Fulltone FullDrive 2 among the non-modded pedals. But John's mod on DS1s and SD1s are the best!
