I'm no expert on LPs but my guitarist picked up a used Agile Les Paul copy for $150. He dropped a set of Gibson 57 Classic pickups in it and it sounds amazing. He tells me it plays great (he's a lefty so I have not tried it). It looks pretty convincing and sounds the part.
Ancient thread, but since its up here.. Never heard of the LDGs. Looks nice tho!!
Heard LOTS of good things over the years about Agiles.
I love my Epi LP 60s tribute. It was made well, has switchcraft toggle, cts pots, upgraded caps, Gibson pups, grover keys and scored it for under 5 bills
I was blown away by the quality of Jay Turser models. The first one I ever tried had a beveled neck heel and played surprisingly well. The LTD Eclipse 256 model is sweet too. You can get those new for about $250 on clearance now too.
For a while I had a Charvel desolation and that was incredible. It was a special run outfitted with Blackouts. It was a steal back in the day for $180.
PRS SE Bernie Marsden. By far the best inexpensive non-Les Paul Les Paul I've tried,
and geometrically it's a reproduction of Bernie's '59 LP so it should have the same neck/body dimensions.
It should. I'm not qualified to tell you otherwise, but if you do a quick search you'll quickly find evidence that Bernie passed his '59 LP to Paul Reed Smith and said "Do that".
So it should be a Gibson neck, in fact. But I don't know. I just remember playing it and feeling it real chunky and nice. (that came out wrong I think?)
I've got 1 of these & got it pretty stupid cheap for what that's worth.
Nevermind the "retail" price,I think they were/are on eBay for about $300.
Doesn't blow my Epi Sykes out of the water, but can certainly plays well & the weight is wonderful(light)...
My copy is a Samick Artist. Plays surprisingly nice. Sounds nice as well with a JB/Jazz set. I'd say it's my favorite 'cause it's what I have. I'd like to find a nice Agile.
