Where did all the SG owners go ?

Guys, i am about to have a NGD, kinda, well, sort of . . .


I am going to buy a guitar with most of it's parts in a box.

Before i started the above posted link, i did a search to see what other SG owners have in their guitars, but sadly i did not find many Gibson SG owners or even PU threads about SG's

Where is the SG LOVE ???

Does this Forum only have Les Paul & 'shredder' threads ?

ANY ONE ?

C5 bridge was made for a SG-seemingly.
That said, I love my Brobucker in my SG bridge.

I love my SG and want several more. I just haven't tried many pickups in it cuz it sounds really good with the stock one. I'm trying P-Rails soon cuz i've always wanted P90's but don't wanna sacrifice gnarly humbucker tone

Brobucker bridge


Jazz neck is cool but when paired with the brobucker feels a bit too boosted/modern....great articulation, but would be better suited to match a hotter bridge pu.

Crazy 8 was quite good in the bridge as well

Didn't care much for the stock 490R & 498T.....duncans sound much more open to my ears.

I am not an expert on PU's but i know what do not like, and those stock PU's i do NOT LIKE !!!

How does the Crazy 8 sound ? Tonal character ?

I had a Gibby SG and still have an Epi SG. I put a set of '59's in the Gibby and a set of Rio Grande Texas BBQ humbuckers in the Epi. I still have the EPI. I would have SD's in it, but my buddy wanted to part with these so....
I have always loved SG's!!

I got two Gibson SG Juniors here man. I'm all about the P-90's in SG's. See the top row outer portion of my avatar.

I loved my SG Jr. You should consider the P Rails, for P90 and humbucker sounds.

That said, there's a lot to be said for the more vintage type HB pups, such as the above mentioned Seths.

Similar to Antiquities, with a nice mid-range and a slight initial bite. Very nice pup. Both are warmer than a '59.

I have a 1968. All original SG Standard. I did put grover in her a few years after I got her. I've had that guitar since 1968. Shes a keeper!

I love my SG!

(the les paul in this pic is gone and a red strat has replaced it..the rest I still have)
I put the Bigsby and locking tuners on myself. I discovered a crack in the headstock this week and just got through repairing it (I dropped it off a stand a few weeks back )

I've got a G400 if that counts. I know there is more than one thread about SG pickups... My favorite combo is the C5/Jazz. C5 and the SG are a match made in tonal heaven.
