Where to put a Boss TU-2 Tuner in the Effects chain?

Just putting my pedal board together guitar-Pick Up Booster-Wah-Phase 90-amp.
The booster has to be first for max benefit. Does it matter if the tuner is last and into the amp??

Thanks

I'd put the TU-2 right after the booster, then wah, then phase 90.

guitar->booster->TU-2->Wah->Phase 90->Amp.

I put mine at the end. You can use it as a killswitch then too. Everything going wild, then bam, dead silence. Useful piece of kit that.

Always put the tuner first, period..LOL.

Re: Where to put a Boss TU-2 Tuner in the Effects chain?

I put mine last, so the buffer is last in my effects chain. My OD pedal prefers the straight signal from the guitar, instead of the slightly boosted buffer signal.

Re: Where to put a Boss TU-2 Tuner in the Effects chain?

It'll be fine after the pickup booster or after the wah or after the phaser.

Using it as a mute / killswitch is also useful to avoid the clunks and hums when changing guitars. But put it where you won't stomp on it accidentally during a song - I've done that a couple of times and it's scary! :smack: Now I make sure I can't step on the TU-2 without really meaning it.

I use it as last in the chain
Since i have mostly true bypassed pedals ,so i need buffering ,and dead silence.
If you use a whammy or any othe pitch shifting pedal ,you have to be carefull.:D

Thanks I'll try it at the end. How does the buffer effect the signal and tone?

Thanks

Re: Where to put a Boss TU-2 Tuner in the Effects chain?

i've always put it last so that when you use it as a killswitch, it also kills any noise coming from any other pedals that may be on at the time.

Re: Where to put a Boss TU-2 Tuner in the Effects chain?

I have my TU-2 third in line, after my DOD FX10 Preamp and my Boss Compressor. I find that after the compressor helps get better tuner readings. I use mine as a killswitch also, for guitar changes.

And yes, keep it out of the way where you won't accidentally step on it. LOL! We've all done that, I'd bet!

Good Luck!

Bill
