Which Bogner? Canefront or Metalfront?

Re: Which Bogner? Canefront or Metalfront?

Metal all the way... I love that high-tech street-rod look on amps LOL.

Man i just LOVE the sound of Bogners. one of these days I WILL own one. BTW, hey GearHo! Whats the tonal difference bewteen and Ecstasy Classic and a 101b?

Yeah the canefront really doesn't give me the impression of the passion and fury thats contained inside haha.

Metal

You can't overstate the value of durability, and everyone knows how great the tone and quality build are.

Re: Which Bogner? Canefront or Metalfront?

Metal rules bro!!! :headbang: :banghead: :firedevil

Does one option cost more than the other?

Re: Which Bogner? Canefront or Metalfront?

Once your decision is reached, please forward said extra Bogner to the address I have provided for you.

Re: Which Bogner? Canefront or Metalfront?

Wow, I'm surprised how divided the opinion of these heads is. The thing about the look is that both fit the personality of the amp, since the head will give you lots of pretty tones as well as brutal and crushing tones. Mine is the white chassis metalfront with the amber jewel on the right, which I plan to keep for life since it was the best version of the 101B Bogner ever made. I bought the newer one on the left for a measly $2000, then sold it two weeks later for over $3000.
Looking down at them while using them, I prefer the metalfront, but I'm considering buying a used/mint canefront headshell, just to have both, in case one gets damaged, or if I decide to go for the 'less-metal' look of the canefront, a few years down the road. Glad to see that the opinion was split right down the middle, which is probably what it would do to your torso, if you stood directly in front of it. LOL

Bogner doesn't even give there endorsee's discounts. Whether you're Vai, VH, or Joe Schmoe, you pay the same.

Metal all the way. With a red light.

mmm, i don´t think so man, he has that equipment for free, i´m pretty sure... i don´t know if the deal says that if the contract ends or brokes he has to give back all their equipment...btw i will ask him next saturday...

Canefront. But really, I'd strip it and reclad it in pink paisley.

Re: Which Bogner? Canefront or Metalfront?

Lucky for some eh? :D

I'd have kept the metal one too, I just think it looks cooler.

Ditto the Red light idea, I think it'd look better

Gearjoneser you showoff!!!

Personally I prefer the black Metal grille, it contrasts nicely with the white knobs and logo. I don't like the cane, it looks too old fashioned (or should I say 'vintage'?) for my tastes.
The metal grille doesn't look good with the cane cabinet but would look killer with a black Bogner cabinet.

Something like this:

But without the Randall, knobs, logo and rectifier sticker :laugh2:

So to answer your question I'd take the Metal front and a black Ubershall cabinet.
I'm already saving up...

Re: Which Bogner? Canefront or Metalfront?

OK, the reason I posted this thread was because I'm planning on keeping my 101B forever, and the opportunity came up to buy an alternate headshell for half of what Bogner usually charges for one. I love the look of the metalfront, especially on the
4-12 canefront cab, but want the option of having that head in a canefront headshell as well, especially since I may want a more conservative look when I use the head on it's matching 2-12 cabinet. Sounds purely cosmetic and superficial, but if I'm 45 years old, and I want a 'less metal' look, I'll be able to have that amp with a more toned down appearance. Those headshells are nearly $400 from Bogner, so I'd better grab that used/mint one while I still can at $200. I just bought it.
