I looked at Keeley's site for the DS-1 mods. Wierd. He doesn't give much (or any) description of the stock units deficiencies, or how his mod changes the tone. Apparently I'm supposed to buy the DS-1 mod because 1) it's Keeley, 2) it sounds great, and 3) Steven Vai has one.
Sorry, but I need a little more info to go on than that. I think I'll try the stock unit for a while, then see what mods are available to correct any complaints I might have.
I don't understand youz guys dissin' the DS-1 for beaing a "cheap distortion pedal". In my book, that's good. I was happy to find out that the pedal I like (DS-1) was $30 cheaper then the pedal I had intended to buy (OS-2).
