Which bridge pickup to compliment p/g neck

Hi there every one. This has probaly been asked hundreds of times but here it goes anyways (sorry). I have an Edwards les paul and I put the pearly gates set in it (for about a year now)and I'm not to happy with the bridge p/u. It seems to middy for my likings. I want something for a classic tone to compliment the p/gn p/u. I have a jb and a custom p/u with some extra magnets-a2, a5 rough and polish, a8 and a ceramic. I'm not sure if I should do a c5, jb2(might be to much for what I want) or ??? Oh and a c2 sounded very flat and dull in this guitar. Please let me know what you think for a magnet or p/u swap. Thanks in advance.

Custom 5 would be a good choice, as would a 59B. I suspect the C8 will have just as much if not more mids than the PGb. The regular SH5 (ceramic) is also very mid heavy.

I had a C5/PGn combo in a V for awhile, worked very well, though I stuck with the 300K vol pots instead of going 500K.

throw the rough a5 in that pg, itll cut down the mids and thicken the bottom

IME, the best match will be an UOA5 magnet for the PG bridge. Or an A8, if you wanna inject a healthy dose of steroids into that p'up. (A healthy dose of steroids? Isn't that an oxymoron...? :scratchch )

+1. Work with what you have before you buy anything else. If an UOA5's still too thick for you in the PGB, try a regular A5 or roughcast A5.

if the a2 has too much mids, then a8 isnt gonna cut it. a8 is like a2 on steroids but with out the sweetness. still lots of mids

Many years ago, I used to enjoy a MIJ Tokai LP clone with PGn and Custom pickups. Right now, my Epi Lucille has a PGn and Brobucker combination.
