which color?

Okay guys and gals; I'm jones'n for this Fender Showmaster they got on sale at M-F and it comes in two colors - ebony ( http://www.fender.com/products/search.php?partno=0263000506 ) and Atlantic Metallic Blue ( http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/511333/ ).
I've got two guitars, a Strat and a Gibson LP, that are black....and it'd be cool to have an all-black axe like that, but I also like the metallic blue (favorite color=blue) and the way the black hardware goes with it.
I'm leaning toward the blue, but was wondering what you all thought?

I almost bought the black one though....yesterday...and thought giving it a day would help me decide better, but it didn't....lol. The black is cool 'cause it's all black 'cept for the Fender logo on the headstock. But I was also thinking that as long as I can get an actual color finish out of what appears to be a closeout of the guitar at M-F, I might as well go for the blue.

here's a good rule of thumb. when Xeromus says he doesn't like a certain color...you know that's the one to get b/c it's far cooler :laugh2: :laugh2:

I see in just the time it took me to write that last one that the majority likes the blue, and I tend to agree. It's what's currently in my "shopping cart," ready to buy.

atlantic blue it is! After it arrives and I get it plugged into a couple of amps I'll post a review on it. It seemed like a pretty good deal (too good?) to jump on. We'll see....

Yeah, I'd have to agree with that : I know a death metal drummer who has a black Jackson and a black Epiphone explorer. Not that he can really play them, he's a drummer. :laugh2: The bassist has a black P-Bass too...

Agreed....I like contrast on a guitar...

That said I'd pick the blue, though from the pic, that still is not a really nice blue like they use on the AM std. Strats (Chrome Blue)

Looks like I bought my blue model just in the nick of time. I'll call them about the $50 off for, what is it?, being on M-F's mailing list? I'll just call them and talk to cust. serv. about it.

just a quick follow-up to the $50 off issue....I just got off the phone with a rep. at M-F and inquired about the discount, and he wasn't aware of anything like that.
So.....not sure on that one. But it didn't hurt to ask.
