but now that i look at my guitar the screws for the neck position humbucker is closest to the neck and the screws on the bridge humbucker is closest to the bridge so i will do it that way
Right.
Yeah the screws are on the outer coils. But that i meant in the last post with screws go were they were ;) my bad english. Maybe did mean this with flipped?
BTW the link doesn't work.
I think on this way the duncan logos have to be right....

it's like this:
http://www.seymourduncan.com/website/support/schematics/hum_sing_hum_vol_tone_spl.html

you have to copy the link to a new window not click it cuz that site won't let you

also my setup looks identical to the first you one put up i dind't see that schematic before but i did see the second one which was why i wasn't sure cuz that one don't have the taps

there is something wrong with the second wiring diagram whic i post i think coz the screws on the neck PU are one the wrong side!?

nothing was wrong with the 2nd but it wasn't set up for tap coils the first one is exactly like how the ibanez comes from the factory

i put my pups in today... the jazz sounds great i gotta play with the jb poles a lil bit but all in all it sounds great as well

yeah with the JB zou have to play a little bit with pu height, polepieces etc....
how sounds the jazz in this axe? and how compared to the JB? Is it as bright and as clear as the JB. What about the bass response of bothe compared? Thanx!

In the rg 550 its better to use the original config with the 5 position switch convinig the humbuckers with te single coil or convine the 2 duncan humbuckers and leaving the single oil alone?

the normal ibanez wiring is:
1-neck humbucker
2-one coil of neck humbucker and middle single coil in parallel (humcancelling)
3-middle single coil
4-one coil of bridge humbucker and middle single coil (humcancelling)
5-bridge humbucker

i used to have a rg550 and it was great for the style i played back then adn that switching pattern worked well. i like it better than the prs style wiring but with two buckers there are lots of possibilitys

damn i haven't been paying attention to this thread my bad... the jazz has a great sound in the rg.. alot of real nice clear cremey tone i love it. great responce to every sound from the 24 fret of the high e string to open low e sounds great. it is a little bit louder then the jb but just barely you can't really notice it. i actually think it's just because there is more bass to the neck position is why it sounds a lil bit louder.

the jazz is also at least just as clear or clearer then the jb just with a lil more low end

i guess i didn't say this on this thread so i will add it in...

i changed the volume pot to a 250k and took out the 500k and took off what i have been told is the 50's mod. the cap from the center terminal to the outer terminal(not the grounded one) I did this because the jb was extremely bright sounding. the jazz sounded great with the 500k. The 250k brought the jb's brightness down alot which is great. It is still bright just not as crazy as it was before. the jazz has more of a bass sound to it now but still sounds exellent. haven't touched the poles on the jazz because i am in love with that p/u.:D
