Re: Which Marshall Cabinet?
I prefer the V-30 loaded cabs such as the 1960AV to the G12T75 loaded (1960) cabs.
In the original post he was asking what to use with a DSL or a TSL though, and don't play either.
It probably boils down to what type of music you plan on playing. For anything except modern very high gain, rock stuff, I'd probably opt for the Greenback loaded version, such as the 1960AC, although I can't complain about my V30's for just about anything. The greenbacks will work better for most blues, blues/rock, classic rock, R&B and so forth... than just about any other 12" speaker usually avialable in a recent Marshall 4x12. Additionally, they are less loud, allowing you to push the head's tubes a little farther for better tone, and they have a earlier breakup.
The standard 1960 w/ G12T75 would be better suited for country and western music than the Marshall Vintage or the Greenback though, LOL. Just dime the midrange knob.
