I would buy neither.

Find an ESP with factory-fitted passive pickups.

Ha! Same here BUT if I had to choose between the two I'd take the EVH–MIA with a Quartersawn Maple neck = bliss :headbang:

Re: Which one would you pick out of these two guitars?

Already have one, i just love the red black cherry finish. :)

In that case, it has to be the Eclipse followed by some wheeler dealing on the pickups and electronics. Somebody will buy the Solderless EMGs - even without cables and controls.

If it is EMG-81/-60 pickups that you specifically object to, the existing Quik Connect wiring harness presents other possibilities. Duncan Blackouts, Live Wire Classic IIs, EMG-57/-66 or, with some additional wiring work, Fishman Fluence pickups.

Re: Which one would you pick out of these two guitars?

I would even come close to buying either. For half that $ I could buy a really good playing, good sounding, and importantly, good looking guitar (much better looking than either of those).

Re: Which one would you pick out of these two guitars?

Definitely ESP... I never could get into the look of those Wolfgangs.

Re: Which one would you pick out of these two guitars?

The ESP. The EII series are really great for the money, and personally I never thought the wolfgangs were worth the money.

Re: Which one would you pick out of these two guitars?

i had a ec1000 and i hated it. That's all i can add to the thread sorry.

Re: Which one would you pick out of these two guitars?

ESP, I played one and couldn't put it down. I am not an EMG guy but that guitar ripped!

Re: Which one would you pick out of these two guitars?

I'll go against the flow and say EVH. It has more of its own thing going than the LP-inspired ESP.
