Which ones of the cheaper pickup manufacturers should we know about?

GFS Red Active pickups are outstanding. Dragonfire active single coils are excellent. Bill Lawrence pickups are great. Kent Armstrong pickups can be good.

Anyone have experience with oripure or Roswell?

I have a Roswell stacked P-90 in my Harley Benton Double Cut Junior. It is stock, and sounds great.

Also, I've been fairly impressed with a number of Artec pickups - not just guitar units. And I like Wilkinson stuff - designed by Trev, but wound in Asia. Very affordable.

Look at this product I found on google.com https://g.co/kgs/hnsPwr7

I had once Donlis and they were sucks. I've heard the very same thing for their humbuckers.

But Fleor and Donlis pickups are really cool. Toneriders are awesome.

By the way i had a ~8K donlis bridge humbucker with double allenhead screws. Swapped the magnet to A5 and it sound very close to PAF Pro. Now, it has alnico 2 within and sounds fantasticly good :)

GFS are great, especially for the price. I've only read good things about their "SBS" series, as well.

If you want USA-made on a budget, you really can't beat the Dean USA DMT stuff. Those models are talked about even less than when the line first came out, but Dean is still producing them and you can easily grab new ones for $50-$60 from authorized dealers online. Almost half the cost of a new Duncan or DiMarzio these days, but every bit as capable.

Everytime I mention how great Bootstrap single coils are, it seems to fall on deaf ears.

$60 for three hand wound in America Strat pickups that are on par or better with their Duncan equivalents.

I have their Golden Ale set (kinda like Antiquity Texas neck and middle with Surfer Custom bridge) and they are straight fire.

Oripure is the boutique version of Fleor

I have just installed a set of Oripure half rails in my purple Headless Ehdwuld

MaxCheer and Saphue are the same company I believe

I have some clips of those ase well

I usually get the alnico version that closely matches the JB/JAZZ set

I have some that the bridge is 13-14k range kinda a Custom

I have some clips for the MaxCheer and Saphue if you like
Let me know

I have Rose pickups in my Strat. They are very good and $80 for a custom set was very affordable. But sadly Ken closed the business in 2021.
