which pick up to use for my semi hollow?

i just bought a Jay Turser semi-hollowbody and it's very well build but the pups are not so very good.

what pup goes well in a semihollow?

i´m thinking about putting a phat cat in the neck position.

don't know about the bridge.
i want a warm and raw bright distortion.

can someone help me?

that's where it gets hard. You want warm and bright at the same time. I'd say the JB.

Mmmm, not so sure on the JB. The Output and upper mid spike may be too much in a Hollowbody....

But unfortunately, I´m not really sure what to recommend. Could you clarify a bit on what kind of tone you´re looking for? My tone is also warm, raw and bright, but I get a feeling on exactly the oppposite end of the spectrum...

why not a phatcat bridge too? I think that will give you raw, warm, and bright. that's what P-90's are all about.

hey morrow, i've got a Jay Turser too. which model did you get? mine is the lespaul style hollowbody in heritage cherry sunburst and is surprisingly well made too. i really like it. i also want new pickups. i was leaning toward seth's or phat cats.

if you want to go the dimarzio route then i would suggest a bluesbucker.

A good example of a distorted p90 in a hollowbody is Revolution by the Beatles. John used his Epiphone Casino on that song.

Great distorted sound imo.
