Re: Which scale length do you guys prefer/think is best?

I've always owned 25.5 necks... but after getting used to my agile... holy crap 24.75 is perfect for me.

Re: Which scale length do you guys prefer/think is best?

Currently, I prefer the longer scale. However, as my tuning habits get closer to standard, and the more I play this ES175, the more I like the shorter scale.

25.5 out of the two, but I've never played a bari at standard.

24.75

Lets me go heavier on the strings, and is easier to bend.

Re: Which scale length do you guys prefer/think is best?

Seeing as I've only ever owned 25.5's...

Re: Which scale length do you guys prefer/think is best?

All the guitar's I've owned have been 25.5, so yeah...although the ESP Flame Baritone plays really well and easily and it's 27".

Bear in mind I have a strat as well as a Gibson, but to me the Gibson is the most comfortable. The necks fit like a glove and I feel more in control with them.

I like the Gibson scale 24.75 tuned in C with 12-52 strings. Easy and tight....

Re: Which scale length do you guys prefer/think is best?

Gibson Les Paul (24.75) all the way for me...had strats, tried to get used to them, but just cant... I don't like them, they don't feel comfortable and they just dont sound right...

Re: Which scale length do you guys prefer/think is best?

I like the Gibson scaled guitars out of the ones I've tried. To me, it's not the feel of the strings, it's the feel of the neck. I also find that 11-49 is a bit too much on 25.5 and 10-46 a bit too little, but 11-50 is nearly perfect on a 24.75! I play in standard E.

I haven't tried a 25", but I'd really like to. Could be perfect.

Re: Which scale length do you guys prefer/think is best?

Gimme the Gibson scale, now and forever. Playing a guitar is hard enough work as it is, no need to make it even harder with the longer scale. That said, I do have a Strat that I love, and the extra work required sometimes makes for better blues playing...
