Which tubes interchange?

My amp is suppose to be self biasing! :banana:

So which tubes are compatible with el 84 and 12x7?

It is in my crate v30 btw, thanks!

Just those. Well....if you wanted lower gain, you could put 12Ay7 or 12Au7, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Self biasing means they used the average mA/voltage setting, so that most tubes would sound fine. I'd just buy some JJ EL-84's and some decent quality pre tubes, and keep your current ones as backups.

My favorite pre tubes are usually GT12AX7C's. They tighten up the preamp section nicely in every amp I've put them in.

I actually just put new power and pre amp electro harmonix (sovteks?) in. It seems a little more gain and less bluesy sounding like the stock ones. They were a single groover, then two sovteks for pre's; then for the power were all groover.

I think those were still good just one of the power tubes was coming loose and rattling so i thought it was going bad.

I guess i just know enough to change stuff but not sure what i want just yet.
