which wah do u prefer

Re: which wah do u prefer

It's the Dunlop for me. I tried a few before I got my 535Q, but nothing comes close. The Morley Wah is a bit like a toy, and the Weeping Demon, well... no.

Re: which wah do u prefer

Teese RMC1...I had this one custom built to sit at unity gain, as opposed to the usual 6dB boost. Geoffrey now has a volume trim pot included in the design of his more recent RMC1. Exceptional tone, ultra smooth sweep, ridiculously funky, worth every cent.

Cheers......................wahwah

Re: which wah do u prefer

I've been using the same wah for almost 10 years now - the Mr. Crybaby Super. Its got a great wah tone and, when the wah is off, its a volume pedal. Its got a LED to let me know when the wah is on. Its got a tone knob and a booster switch but I never use those. I really love this pedal. Too bad they don't make 'em anymore... I like it so much, I'd buy another one...

Re: which wah do u prefer

I love the versatility my Ibanez weeping demon, I ditched my Dunlop Crybaby within days of buying the Ibanez.

Re: which wah do u prefer

I've had a BUNCH of Wahs I just sold my origional Thomas Organ Clide last week. I USE a couple of George Dennis optical wahs. I found the first one at a Pawn Shop it sat there for a couple of years and no one plugged it up. I bought it for $35!! I have 3 of um two big orange standard ones and a green switchable one. I can't find a model # on um anywhere. I understand these are quite expensive new and retail in the $250 range but I got lucky and gave $60 at the most for the green one less for both the orange ones. These are best sounding and most reliable Wahs I have yet to find!!!

I'm not much of a waher, but I stick with the Dunlop Original CryBaby. It has a massive range, and no fuss with extra buttons, knobs, or switches. I feel that if I have to adjust the sound, I just adjust the placement of the rocker.

Re: which wah do u prefer

Since no one has mentioned it, I'll put in a plug for the Budda Bud Wah. Great tone - never harsh or trebly like some I've tried. I picked up a used one and am very happy with it.

Re: which wah do u prefer

I own a Dunlop and tried a friends Vox. I like the Vox for more wail in my wah. To me the Crybaby seems more subtle in comparison.

Re: which wah do u prefer

Teese's Stuff, without a doubt, the Real McCoy Custom RMC4 - PICTURE WAH, & RMC5 - WIZARD WAH. My Picture gets the most toe tappin', stomp, and ankle rockin' use; while the Red Thing does it's own thang here and there very well and quite uniquely too.

Re: which wah do u prefer

I just got a Teese Wizard WAH from forum bro RockStarNick and am REALLY happy with it. My Dunlop GCB95 is now redundant... actually I'm waiting for an Area 51 drop in board for that one. The Wizard ia a great no nonsense pedal.... Highly recommended!!

Well had my old Italian Doublesound restored....mind you I do not like wah very much...but that one...
Along with a few other old wah's that I also like, I am into Hendrix/and others from that area when I hear wah sounds.

Exactly buddy.....I'm totally into the early Clyde McCoy Vox or really early Cyrbaby tones that had the right inductor, pot, caps etc....That's where my wah tones are at!

Re: which wah do u prefer

Hehehehe in mine the "secret" is the strange 220K pot.
We copied the sound as closely as possible, now it is one of the settings in our new wahahaha...:D
Also had an old old Vox once, together with this JEN thing I have now...it too had that 220k pot..
I think old Boomerangs have those as well.

Re: which wah do u prefer

I love my Teese Picture wah... they are pricey but it is great. I had a cry baby, and a vox, this thing is so smooth and sweet. I am actually going to try a teese wheels of fire today. I may add it to my arsenal as it is supposed to be evil. I liked the wizard wah too.. dark and throaty. Cry baby from hell is too iconic for me.
