considering i don't have any pedals that would be my setup. however soon i should have myself a muff fuzz or a flanger hoax. i like the sound of both. i'll just get both

I like having a broad tonal pallete when possible, so I use pedals when I can. I don't have to have them, but I do like them. Not all amps work well with pedals, so sometimes I just run it straight into the amp.

I'm a guitar-cord-amp guy by nature, though in real life it doesn't work out that way for me.

I pack an od and a tuner for my rock band and for my main band I pack a pedalboard with wah, tuner, synth-wah, overdrive, fuzz and delay. And every time I set that pedalboard on the floor, I stare at it and wonder how on earth I ended up with so much junk at my feet. I blame my pedal-junkie friend and co-bandmember. here's a good three quarters of his stash:

I'm pretty much always straight into the amp in the studio, unless I'm going for a special tone. Like a tonebender clone into my soldano, or a Mutron 3 into my blue angel.

I like guitar chords. I use them all the time to play songs.

yeah.......unless you have a Vibroking with the Fender stand alone unit built in, even theold reverbs can be a bit of a compromise

Bue yeah. I never use effects. Its not that I dont like them.. its just that I havent found one that I like enough to buy. I have a wah wah and a Boss SD-1 and I never have the urge to use them above my amp's normal tone.

Isn't the amp distortion itself kind of an "effect"? I mean, unless you own one of those single channel amps (and push the tubes to distort) just owning a two channel amp means you use effects!

Even using the damn volume control and switching your pickups has an 'effect' on your tone! I mean, c'mon people...

I don't think you can get "pure" guitar tone unless you play an acoustic-acoustic, dry and without (electric) amplification...now THAT is a non-effected guitar tone...

You know what puts Gillmore and Angus Young in same category ??? They knew what that "it" was, and they did not care what it took to get there. If Young's sound would've required same pedal insanity of Gillmore he would do it without thinking twice of how "purist" was it?

I'm into my killer guitars, and amps. The axes are a mod'ed Gibson, and a Fender Tele project, and the amps are both from Rivera. As a blues and classic rock guy, really this stuff doesn't need to be muddied into garbage by a chain of stuff. They are masterpieces as is. Let there be rock.

i just use a noise supressor between my sg and my el diablo. I want to get a delay though.

i have fx but i rarely use them. unless im playing in my trio i dont even bring them out.
the problem with guitar/cord/amp rigs is that you (or at least i) need one for each volume level so i have five tube amps from 8w-40w so no matter where im playing i have an amp that i can get the goods from at a workable volume

For a lot of stuff I play, guitar---cord---tweed amp (or other non-reverb amps). The fewer tone controls, the better. For other stuff, I'll use anything that works to do the job.

I can't get into pedals. I bought a Danelectro FAB for my student that I keep at my place... It works about half the time. :smack: can't see myself using it anyways :laugh2: Volume knob :smokin:

Anyway, I have a tuner pedal that I do use.

And a wah that I don't. I should start a porno band. :laugh2:

for the most part i use the simple guitar> amp setup. but sometimes i will add my blue box.

Tele > cord > Celtic Amp
