Here is another post I wanted to put up. Who here remembers their first guitar they ever got???
Mine was a KREAMER (Aerostar) I believe was the name. It was red with a rosewood fret board I think with the single humbucker slanted at the bridge. LOL Then I traded that in for a Ibanez RG 700 series I loved that guitar!!!!!

Re: WHO REMEMBERS THEIR FIRST GUITAR????

I sure do. It was a black Epiphone Les Paul with a cream pickguard that I bought brand new at Schmitt Music in Brooklyn Center, MN. I still have photos of it somewhere back home in MN but not here with me in Greece. It was an awesome first guitar! I played on it for 4 or 5 years before I upgraded to a Gibson Les Paul. I sold the Epiphone but sometimes I regret selling my first guitar even though I own much, much better guitars now. I will forever be a Les Paul guy at heart because of that Epi though.

Re: WHO REMEMBERS THEIR FIRST GUITAR????

You mean Kramer? ;)

My first electric was a Martin Stinger Strat copy. No pickguard on it. Was a piece of crap really.

First guitar ever was a Kay dreadnought acoustic.

August 1977 spent $125 for a bolt necked year old Ibanez LP clone in Natural with a Maple Body and neck with a plain top Maple top. Been looking for it's twin for a good 10 years. :dunno: :nono: :cool2:

Lower left corner.

Re: WHO REMEMBERS THEIR FIRST GUITAR????

A Squire Strat in fiesta red. My dad bought it for me for my sixteenth or seventeenth birthday, along with an Ibanez IBZ10 amp. The guitar ended up getting lost or stolen when he moved, but I still use the amp every day, until I get my Bugera later this month, anyway. I'm pretty proud of that amp, it was old and used when I got it, and 10 years later it still works great. The only problem I've ever had with it was that the socket on the back for the power cord was loose for a while, until I took it apart and fixed it.

Fender Strat....I think it was either a '76 or '77 model. Kept it for maybe 30 years until someone cleaning out the house through out the old guitar because they had not seen it played in a long time. I had an electric years before ever owning an acoustic guitar.

Re: WHO REMEMBERS THEIR FIRST GUITAR????

It's hanging on the wall in front of me as I type this, yes I remember it lol. 1979 Guild S60-D handed down to me from my older brother.

Red Ibanez RX40 HSS. Not a bad guitar all in all. Brother in law has it currently.

Re: WHO REMEMBERS THEIR FIRST GUITAR????

An Epiphone Goth Les Paul Studio was my first. I still have it, but it's a pickup tester for me, mostly. It wasn't great; was buzzy as crap and had a dead fret (18th on the high E), but I loved it and it's what kept me playing.

Re: WHO REMEMBERS THEIR FIRST GUITAR????

A black Hondo Lea Paul copy I found at my grandparents. Belonged to an uncle who next played it past high school. It was plywood and didn't sound great. Got an Epi Les Paul Special after playing the Hondo about 6 months

Re: WHO REMEMBERS THEIR FIRST GUITAR????

Mine was a late 60's Japanese Telecaster copy with a Bigsby-style trem. Blonde with a black pickguard, maple fretboard, teardrop ashtray bridge with cover (which stayed in the case pocket). One of the original lawsuit guitars. As I recall, the headstock had "Fember" on it in the Fender-style script. It was a good-looking guitar and it played fine. I got it from my best friend's younger brother. It was his first guitar, too. I think it became someone else's first guitar when I sold it.

Re: WHO REMEMBERS THEIR FIRST GUITAR????

Mine was a Kent single "hum" SG. After further inspection there was only one coil under the cover. It was around $99 in 79 when I got it.

Re: WHO REMEMBERS THEIR FIRST GUITAR????

My first electric was an Epiphone Dot, I got it around 1999. My dad gave it to me so I would stop playing his Yamaki D28 knock off, which I had stolen for a several years. Still have the Epi, but it desperately needs to be refretted.

Re: WHO REMEMBERS THEIR FIRST GUITAR????

I earned my first guitar by digging up mesquite trees from the yard, I got two bucks a stump. I bought it from a Sears roebuck catalogue.... Ya that's how old I am.
It was the ugliest guest I've ever owned. Looked a lot like this...

I took it apart and spray painted it like 15 times.
It totally sucked.

Ibanez GRX40, in the metallic dark blue color.
Kinda a cheap super strat, was like $115.
The original pickups were terrible in retrospect. Those "powersound" pickups.

After a while it got a SSL-1 neck pickup and that's what got me interested in Seymour Duncan.
A bit after that I got a Super Distortion for the bridge pickup. That thing was great.

Years later I pawned it for $50 so I could buy fungi of the Psilocybe genus.

Everything said it was a decent guitar to begin on.
