59 w/ a2 sounds like a seth to me. To close to have both at least.

Dunno about the mids, it is like it evens more out with the A2, it is still a snarly open pickup, almost like a PG in some respects.
The Seth has a different sound...hehe I love all those PAF'esque pickups.

Try an A3 magnet in there, you might like that even more...I agree, the '59 with an A2 or A3 magnet is a killer pickup.
