Why Aren't there More Female Guitar Players, Especially Electric?

Re: Why Aren't there More Female Guitar Players, Especially Electric?

This is not an uncommon sight to see, I'll post bla bla bla, and suddenly a singled out bunch of forum members show up out of nowhere

I can't keep up with this thread guys. Y'all figure anything out yet or what?

Re: Why Aren't there More Female Guitar Players, Especially Electric?

All I know is I am honored to have made the almighty DreX ignore list!

Anybody else find it as interesting as I do that as soon as DreX posts pics of his Marshall TSL/we start asking him questions about it he creates an ignore list and makes it a point to show it off publicly so he has an excuse for not answering questions about his expensive amp?

I thought that was a bunch of deleted posts at first lol.

This thread sure is popular. Almost as good as some of the old threads on My Les Paul about top wrapping or long vs short tenons.

Re: Why Aren't there More Female Guitar Players, Especially Electric?

Hi,
I played in an all girl band (me being the only male, pics in "Pacific Northwest Bands"-under Roni Lee Band [or Ronni]) and she was playing hard on an L.Paul w/ a Marshall/Orange amp set-up. She now is playing and going very strong with her new band, I think she spells it different, like Roni Lee or something. Anyway, she is still at it, PRSmith gave her a guitar and she is in a 3 piece band. If anyone said to her "hey, you suck" although she is a little woman, she would kick your ass so hard she'd break yer teeth!
Look her up, she is getting "bigger" as an artist as we speak. She had a hard edge about her,and played her guts out!
If you see her band picture at Pac.NW Bands, guess which one is me. Look past the 70's makeup, hint I am the only guy.

Yeah,
All girl band with a guy does sound stupid, but she had trouble finding someone who could lay back and not try to steal any of her thunder. I got hired cause she and her girl bassist and drummer liked me. Plus I was at my physical peak. 135 pounds, very skinny, a real 6 pack, lived on speed, and wore makeup when they told me to.
So I had hair down to my ass and sorta looked like a girl anyway. I looked like a pretty lesbian with no breasts. Seriously, check out the photo. Anyway, thats why I got the job. The manager liked me personally also from before in different bands, I was desperate to work and I was a perfect fit. 24 years old, something like that, in the 70's all fired up on sh*tty speed and danced 5 hours a night in my little area on the stage.
Hope that explains it a little.

why does every 2nd or 3rd thread get derailed

Really this one made it pretty far before it got derailed... most are derailed before the 2nd page...

I guess that you could argue that Buff being hired into a girl band cause he looked like a lesbian is the closest to a real female point of view we've had in this thread....

Re: Why Aren't there More Female Guitar Players, Especially Electric?

Edgecrusher is correct,
My intention was to keep the focus on the fact I played for years with a female guitarist and we split the solos. I was really pointing out that female guitarists are not all just looks and can't do their best to tear things up.
The other stuff was just fun facts and proof I was there.
So forgive me if I derailed the basic tenet of the the OP's post. Wasn't trying to do that at all.

Its all good man... I think some people feel like this issue must be solved here and now.. and it wont... so a little distraction wont hurt.

Re: Why Aren't there More Female Guitar Players, Especially Electric?

It's simply that when it comes to the topic of cheap vs expensive guitars, people lose their f'
ing minds.

I love how you continuously stir the pot and derail every thread. Do you also preach the cheap vs expensive thing when you are selling people tires?

That is hysterical! Why do you even come here if you've got 3/4 of the forum on your ignore list?

You are talking to the wind he has you on ignore. I would quote your comment but he has me on ignore also.

I'm kinda surprised I'm not on ignore, too. I've definitely given him guff in the past. Maybe because I tell him why he's wrong rather than just calling him an idiot?
