Why Aren't there More Female Guitar Players, Especially Electric?

Re: Why Aren't there More Female Guitar Players, Especially Electric?

Why does every thread that DreX posts in (even if he doesn't say something stupid) become about DreX? C'mon, guys. Ragging on him constantly is just as bad as the reasons he gives to be ragged upon.

I kind of like the guy, myself. I think he's funny as hell.

My ignore list is filling up rather fast.

Does anyone remember what this thread was about?

Kramersteen is one of the most knowledgeable members on the forum when it comes to building guitars and trickier guitar work. Unfortunately, he was raised by a pack of dingoes and therefore is different from us normal human beings. Not what I'd call a career ****poster, but definitely a power metal fan. :p

Women guitar players could sure pull off the spandex better than those aging old farts that managed to survive the "blizzard" that was '80s glam rock.

Oh i forgot one thing, Congrats on the new baby! You two must be so proud.

This ****poster knows more than you. If you look around and stop flapping ya gums for a second you might actually learn something.

I reckon that, if I post the word "sh!tposter", I can score me an infraction, thereby proving my point about bias.

Synchronise watches, folks. :fingersx:

Precisely what I was thinking. I don't think calling someone that is acceptable. Nor do I think the sneaky attempt at squeaking in a curse word is OK either. REPORTED! Of Course, he has me on ignore, so he probably has no clue that I did so. And if he can see this post, I don't care. Not cool whether it is coming from him or going at him.

Back on topic, women who can shred are awesome. I dig Orianthi's guitar work. I think Lizzy Hale's kinda bad-ass too.

I agree on all counts and when it comes to Lizzy Hale... wow, she really has an amazing range of vocal styles on top of her guitar playing.

Re: Why Aren't there More Female Guitar Players, Especially Electric?

The most important thing to come out of this thread is the discovery that I've made an ignore list that includes a significant number of veteran members.

How is it that everyone else is the problem? That is a completely illogical conclusion based on the overwhelming evidence.

In nearly 15 years in this joint I don't know if I have ever been on an ignore list, and I recently received my first warning related to this same forum member. Somehow everyone else is the problem and NOT the one common denominator.

It's like the person who is on their 5th marriage who blames all of the exes for their marital failures with no consideration of how they are contributing to the problem.

Meanwhile women continue to find better ways to spend their time than buying guitar gear. Your marketing gimmicks will continue to fail because you are not attempting to appeal to women on their terms; you're trying to prove how opened minded you are by applying your misogyny to your marketing strategy and assuming that women are incapable of deciding for themselves.

Women that want to play, do.

I hope you guys feel real good about yourselves. I've never seen it take so many people to go after 1 guy. You should all be ashamed.
