Re: Why do people SELL so fast?
I can't speak for everyone, but in my case, I've bought gear sight unseen that I had certain expectations of based on word of mouth from folks; I learned really fast that that is a bad way to go. The Bad Cat Hot Cat 30 was supposed to be so much better than the Shiva according to some folks online so I went that route and found it did absolutely nothing for me (and I'm a Vox/Marshall kinda guy).
I'm that idiot that B2D mentioned that purchased an amp that was too powerful for my needs at the time. I was guilty of buying a Hughes & Kettner Triamp not realizing just how incredibly loud 100w tube was :smack: However, I've also learned over time that some amps are generally louder than the respective wattage would suggest (the Hot Cat 30 was monsterous... that was a LOUD 30w) and a higher wattage amp can be used for bedroom playing if it has a good master volume (my Shiva at 80w looks intimidating, but sounds great at low volumes).
I've learned my lessons over time. I stick out gear for atleast several months and evaluate it thoroughly. If I still dig it, it stays; if it isn't getting used like it should, it gets sold. I can't say I really regret selling a thing even though I did love my custom shop Gibsons. I'm very happy with what I have at this point and anything that gets purchased in the future will be an addition, not a replacement for what I have.
