Good one! I'm a heretic, then. :smokin:

Me too.:smack: I dig my combos, just prefer head/cab.

Because the only combo I know of that can come close to doing what me cabs/rack rig does is the Zentera combo and matching cab. Oddly enough, the GT-8, Mesa 50:50, and a pair of 2x12 cabs is WAY less expensive than the H&K.

And I have tube power. ;)

Looks are an important thing. A combo just doesn't look as cool as a piggy back or a 1/2 stack!! A combo stacked on a seperate speaker cab looks awkward, in just my opinion.

I like the modularity of a head and seperate cabinet(s), from a functional stand point. You can have open backed, closed back, and ported cab designs. Whatever is needed for the gig, from big to little. With a combo you may not need the built in speakers, and that's just extra weight if you use a seperate cab. Usually a 2x12 combo is big, heavy, and awkward. A seperate head and a 1x12, or a 2x12 cab, is actually easier to handle and looks cooler.

Because I've never found a combo that really did it for me. The last thing I'd want is to drag out a 100lb combo that doesn't sound anything like I want it to.

Bluedave, I bet that 2x12 combo of yours is closer to 55-60 lbs. My 900 head is 47 lbs. alone. Add the weight of the speakers and additional wood for the combo box.

I'm kinda tired of lugging my 4x12 around lately so a 2x12 may be replacing it at some point.

It may be, but it has the side handles so its real easy to carry. I don't mind it at all. A 4 12 is just painful..... and I ain't getting any younger!:smack:

Oh yeah, I forgot those beasts had the side handles. That was a very smart move to put those in. That would make it easier that using the top handle.
