yeah, this is what i am trying to say to so many people.

getting a Plexi is great if you got the dough but there is so much out there that will do it for waaaaay less.

The sad thing is that Marshall fans were requesting great quality for a long time and Marshall was not in my opinion following. they saw alot of money in the Lower range market and totally forgot about the rest.

i mean isnt that right?? after the Plexi didnt everything go down quality wise??

Think of it. the only time that quality has gone back up is now with their Hand Built series.
The bad thing is that i think that they missed the boat now. I mean i was looking for the 'magic Marshall' years ago and could find it and it was too expensive. So now i should go and buy an amp from them that is just like their amps were 40 years ago???
this is what the boutique companies were doing 5-10 years ago. Now, the boutique amps are making awesome Marshall PLUS a whole lot more.
i mean now you can get a Bogner that has a awesome Plexi mode plus the high gain mode plus the clean Fender mode. So now i should go and buy the old MArshall to get ONE SOUND??!!!!

I seriously think that they will not sell well for Marshall because of this.
Cause they cost a boat load as well. so why should i go and pay the same amount of money to get a vintage amp that does one sound instead of get an amp with the same money that has a million options and sounds plus has that great 'one' sound??

Speaking of highend amps, I've been told that Fargen is releasing the mother of all amps, called the VOS. They'll have them at that amp show in Los Angeles in May.

As a matter of fact, a guy sold #1 on "Fleabay" not long ago....

Of course I can't find it now! :smack:

i think that they should sell single channel versions of their DSL 50 non master volume style. They should also find a way to bring down the prices on the vintage series amps...

I'm satisfied with one channel and a pedal for OD. Shouldn't i be able to save a few bills since i would be settling for an amp with fewer bells and whistles and is easier to manufacture? Just like i wish that Fender sold a single channel fender twin with no vibrato in 1x12 format. Perfect amp in my opinion.

Ahem, Canada here. Traynor used to clone Marshall and Fender amps and sold them at a reasonnable price and these are out there today for cheap. I sold my plexi reissue and got a YBA-1 head (JTM-45 clone) for $400 Canadian, and it sounds just as good as the Marshall.
