Wiring question. 3 Pickup Telecaster

Hey Guys and Gals,

I was just wondering if is possible to wire up a 3 pickup telecaster as follows:

Neck - single coil
Middle - single coil
Bridge - hot rails

5 way switch

volume push/pull to kill the neck pickup
tone push/pull to split the hot rail
micro on/on for parallel switching

I was just wondering if this is possible?
Thanks for any input.

I will say that a split Hot Rail isn't all that great. Putting both coils in parallel, though, is really a great sound.

I think that’s possible but how are you thinking of using the neck switch? Just to kill the neck sound when it’s on the neck/middle position? That feels very specific :)

I can't imagine why you'd want a switch to kill the neck pup. If you're thinking of using it to kill the guitar when in the neck position only, why not just use it as a kill switch for all positions (kill the output to the jack rather than just one pup)?

you could use it to get a stutter effect

anyway, i think thats a fine setup. i have a pair of hot rails in a strat with series/split/parallel options and i gotta say, i like all three options for different things. series is the loudest and fattest. parallel and split are about the same volume, though parallel is thicker than split and might have a touch more perceived output.

Another question...since you're going to have a on-on micro switch for parallel, why not eliminate the tone p/p pot and use an on-on-on micro to do series-split-parallel. The switch is much easier to use than a p/p.
