Would copper paint on a pickups affect the tone?

Very little of the stuff, on the outside of an (off brand) active pickup.

I'll be getting one of these:

and wanted to keep the look close to original. very thin coat of spray under clearcoat.
I'd be making it close to the corrent 'distressed' look.
