Would it be hard to make a true bypass looper?

I've just won a vintage MXR 5 band stereo EQ on ebay for really cheap.
Hopefully it still works, (they say it does).
However it doesn't have a on off switch. I was thinking of buying, OR making (if it's not too hard) a bypass switch. Cause the EQ is stereo, i was thinking of using say the left as a tone shaper, and the right as a booster. In that case, I'd need some sort of off/on mechanism to work it.

its not that tricky, you can get the metal chasis and the dpdt footswitch and input jacks and wire all for under 30$. the wiring isnt tough at all either, its just a matter of having the switch completely cut the hot loop or not

Not quite that easy for a stereo pedal.

Re: Would it be hard to make a true bypass looper?

Well i mean using the stereo pedal as two pedals in a sense?
So left and right as seperate channels.
Does that work?

Re: Would it be hard to make a true bypass looper?

couldnt yuo just use a chasis with 2 dpdt on/off footswitches, one for bypass, and the other for channel selection ?

Re: Would it be hard to make a true bypass looper?

wouldn't just one true bypass looper work and save so much more space?

Oh, ok so that would work?
Sweet, so technically, it's just 2 EQ's in one?
Anyone got any inside scoop on these EQ's i just bought
It's a vintage MXR 5 Band Eq. Stereo, no switch to turn it on and off. It has a moogerfooger sorta style look to it.
Any good?

Re: Would it be hard to make a true bypass looper?

It's not hard but the the time of ordering parts, dealing with all the little wires and all the BS just buy one...there are several guys making and selling them these days, one or 2 are even on this forum!

Re: Would it be hard to make a true bypass looper?

Yup, okay. If anything i just wanted to make one for experience if anything, not cause its cheaper.
