WTT: for a dual humbucker guitar:

Man, I hate to say it, but it looks like I'm not going to get the Hamer running, even though I promised myself I would. I'm halfway there, but I have practically no time where I'm 100% or even 75% present for my own hobbies and projects, so it's taking forever and I'm unsure I'll even like the final product. The neck is feeling pretty skinny and I have big hands.

So:
Up for trade is an 84-85 Hamer Scarab 2.
holes for 2 humbuckers. One is occupied by a vintage pickup of unknown provenance, assumedly a Hamer/Dimarzio Slammer in the neck. The other is a random puppie that measures 8.3 ohms in the bridge.
Speaking of bridge, the bridge is a vintage no-fine-tuners Floyd Rose. No trem bar. The hole has the finish paint in it.
The finish is sexy if you like relic. It's a slightly sparkled yellow cream color. It's got crazing at the controls, chips along the edges, rash on the back.
Controls are Hamer stamped. No covers on the back.
The LEDs...I dunno if they work yet. It's got LEDs in the neck. I'm pretty sure it's a later neck, as these Scarabs seem to be body colored all the way around and this neck is black. It's also a non-hockey stick...but it's got LEDs. I'm pretty sure that's a good trade-off.

I've since mounted the bridge hummie since these pics were taken and started blocking off the trem.

I'm looking for a humbucking guitar. (shrug) I'd prefer something semi-vintage looking. coil splits not necessary, but appreciated. Hardtail or trem.
My short list before buying this was:
Vox SCC33
Epiphone Nighthawk RI
Epi SG
Squier tele with the wide-ranges
etc. ~$300 axe

I thought I'd throw this out there. I'm pretty low right now, and pretty frustrated with my current situation. I'm crafty but severely limited on functional work time around the house. At this point I'm starting to want something working over something "neat".

I'm imagining a hot pink and black "bengal" paint job with a pair of Super Distortions...woot woot! Cool project for someone to finish.

Sorry you don't have the time to do it yourself...I run into that very same problem often, so I know how you feel.

Re: WTT: for a dual humbucker guitar:

Yea, my plan was/is to put a pair or medium output dark pickups in and give it a full-lovecraft graphics scheme for poopoos and haahaas. With a 2yo and a 5yo pair of spastics running around and a wife who attempts to consume all my attention, I'm kind of at a loss. I can't even leave tools in public places; the older kid snipped the lead of my mm and busted the neck pup volume on my Godin.
