Yep, I like blue....

Bullet Proof Toneologist
So I had to sell my blue guitar to help fund a busted boat. I decided to take this guitar and do THIS.... Keeps me off the streets.... The guitar is a 1990 Squier II Strat I picked up for 40.00! I put a 62 RI trem in it and changed a tone cap. The rest is stock, the guitar sounds GREAT! The pic of the black squier is not mine. I forgot to do a before and after, but the guitar is identical. Not bad for a boring weekend, quite pleased!! I still need to age the hardware, but that will be for another day..

Re: Yep, I like blue....

If it happened in the Kevlab, it happened awesome.

Hunter, where are you for this?

My local auto parts store happened to have a near perfect shade of Daphne, for 5.00! Spent most of today sanding and then compound polishing to get it smooth. Then I drug it over some patio stones and hit it with a rock...

Don't do this. You only make me want you.

Re: Yep, I like blue....

If you're already painting that one blue, what happened to the 50th aniv. strat you had up in the trading post? Gone now?

Re: Yep, I like blue....

i like it! especially the black line that goes all the way around the top. almost like a binding. really cool look! daphne and maple definitely work well together

Re: Yep, I like blue....

Jay, that black line was kind of an accident, but it ended up looking like pin-striping, which I thought was pretty cool... I wish I had the skills to do a relic stripe job, it would be really fun...
