The best things about desert islands is that they all have electricity, and somehow the salty sea air and sand never damage our valuable guitars, amps, or the turn tables for our desert island record collections whose vinyl is also somehow never scratched by the sand
"desert" being the archaic meaning of the word. Any uninhabited island is a desert island. "Desert" just came to mean a place with very little water because those were the only places left that didn't have anyone inhabiting them.
