Re: Your First Guitar?

A Harmony electric. It was a piece of 3/4 plywood :laugh2: The PuP
looked like a Lil' toater with gold foil in it. :laugh2: My 1st amp was
a tube Webcor Reel to reel from the 50's. ( I wish I still had it :smack: )

Re: Your First Guitar?

Mint-condition Arnold Floyer circa 1965 jazzbox, when I was about 7 or 8 (early 80s). Had a baritone ukelele when I was 4.

Re: Your First Guitar?

First guitar: A 1960's Zenon Jaguar/Mustang copy (1983?). Looked a lot like this:

Black and White Encore Strat - Lefty (£139.00)

Pickup selector disintegrated after a couple of months and I've been playing it accoustically ever since :)

Re: Your First Guitar?

1st accoustic was a harmony 3/4 size job. Got that in '85. Still have it.
1st electric was a black Arbor flying V with one EMG -got it in '90 for $70 but sold it long ago
I'm almost certain my first amp was a Peavy practice amp of some sort (also long gone)-JG

Re: Your First Guitar?

Magnum SG copy. actually the second guitar was a magnum les paul copy, wonder what ever happened to that guitar company?

Re: Your First Guitar?

my electric was something from a brand called FirstAct, i bought it at wal-mart. i've still got it,too.
my first acoustic was an 80s Fender Gemini 1. still have it, it was my aunt's, she played it a little while, then put it in its case and locked it in a closet. i just got it last year.
my first amp was the four-watt one that came with the FirstAct. I dont have it anymore.

Re: Your First Guitar?

My first guitar was an Acoustic that my Mom bought for me at Sears for $20. I learned the basics on that and I really don't remember what happened to it.

My First Electric was a Hagstrom 2. It was painted similar to Claptons SG when I bought it, paid $50 for it. I stripped the weird paint job off with lighter fluid. It's original paint was in good shape. I eventually sold it to buy my SG which I still have.

Re: Your First Guitar?

My first electric, and still my favorite guitar I've ever played on: Silvertone SG, which I've modded a lot but love to death.

First Amp: Hahahaha Saturday Night Special 30watt 1X10 SS amp. Hated playing through that amp so much, that for the first year and a half of my guitar playing, I played my SG unplugged.

First Acoustic: Ibanez AEF 30 which is acoustic-electric and plays really well.

HOLY CRAP!! That is EERILY similar to what I started out with, a Harmony pseudo-Strat with those gold microphone-type pickups and a Westinghouse tube reel to reel tape deck from the 60's that had the most BADASS overdrive sound.

My second was this Univox ES-335 dealie

Re: Your First Guitar?

She's still here!
HSS02.jpg

2000 Fender MiM Standard Stratocaster (used to be SSS w/white pickguard).
Bought her new December 2000, right after I got into university (I was 18 at the time) together with the lowest Fender practice amp (it didn't even had reverb :9:) for about 195.000 drx (aprox. 840 USD).
The amp was the first thing I changed, about 5 or so years later I got a Line6 Spider II 30 and two weeks ago I ditched it for a B-52 AT-112 tube.

It is fairly obvious what the Strat evolved into (that's the Crazy 8 at the bridge!).
Now my GAS is loud and proud once more for a new (or actually, a couple more!) axes!!!

Re: Your First Guitar?

My dad bought be a Godin SdXt, special prototype run quilted maple vintage burst color. Hum single hum, with a trem and maple neck. Still have it, but it has 3 single coils now, kind of like a super strat. Love it, still play it almost every day.

Re: Your First Guitar?

Cheap acoustic that was like 30 bucks 12 years ago. You can imagine how bad it is! It's sitting right beside me at this moment.

My first electric was my Epiphone S210, a Strat knockoff. Now it has a mirror pickguard, locking tuners, scalloped fretboard from 12th fret and up, blocked trem, and a Duncan JB on bridge. Still going strong!

And my first amp? A Yamaha HY-10GIII or something like that. A Crate GX15 sounds like a Dumble next to it!

I still have them all. :)

This is a photo similar to my first electric. The one I bought was initially painted to look like Erics SG (during Cream). I stripped it down to its original color (white) with lighter fluid. I was probably 13 or 14. When I got that guitar. Its probably the one guitar that I sold that I really wish I still had. I paid $50 for it and about a year later I sold it for $50 to buy my SG (which I still have). That was around 1967. My first amp wa a '66 vibrolux that I fried by jamming a piece of tin foil in the fuse holder (I blew the fuse at a gig an didn't have a spare.... I ALWAYS CARRY SPARES NOW) This was not my first guitar, it was my first electric. My first guitar was a acoustic my Mom bought me in Sears for $20. I wish I still had both of these guitars.

Re: Your First Guitar?

Started on my mom's classical at 13. First Electric: Squier Affinity Stratocaster. First Amp: Fender Frontman 15G amp. First acoustic I bought: New York Pro acoustic (Pawnshop for $130).
When I got my Squier:
