I've been drinkin' the Kool Aid:

Axe-Fx Ultra

Liquid Foot Pro

And a couple of Verve 12MAs so I can run in stereo. These are good for either self-monitoring or backline.

If I really wanted to spend all the money, I'd pick up a Two Rock but the Axe-FX can cop those tones pretty well.

Re: You've got $10,000...

Crate G10XL. I'd buy two or three hundred of them.

Re: You've got $10,000...

I'm extremely set with my DC-30 & Edana (JTM45), so no need for any amps....I'll keep the 10k :D

Actually, if I stumbled upon a sweet minty 1963 Fender Bassman piggyback rig, I'd snatch it up :bigthumb:

Re: You've got $10,000...

Bogner Ecstasy 100B (3k USD):

Simply the holy grail overdrive amp. I love the lead tones I've heard from this thing and the rhythm crunch tones are out of control. I may realistically get one down the road to add to my Shiva.

That's kinda of funny... you have a Shiva and wanna get an Ecstasy, and I have an Ecstasy and wanna get a Shiva. If you lived closer, we could trade amps for a while!

My Ecstasy's footswitch has two more buttons than that one... one to put the amp in standby remotely (LOVE that feature) and separate boosts for channels 1 and 2/3.

Re: You've got $10,000...

I would build my JCM800 with mercury transformers
I would build my 18 watt with mercury transformers. then I would buy a Scumback 2x12.
and a radial amp switcher. and a Weber 100 Mass for recording.

Re: You've got $10,000...

Hiwatt Half Stack
Vox AC30
Celtic amplifiers Edana
Old mid-60s fender bassman

I dunno the prices, if I ran out I already have a marshall plexi copy so I could probably scratch the edana, and if that wasn't enough then I could do without the bassman too.

Re: You've got $10,000...

Howdy,

What a fantasy! OK, my 10K would be the following Dr. Z heads: Stangray, Route 66 with a 2-12 cab loaded with C-Blues. Then I'd get a Swart AST and spend the rest on tubes, which these amps would need!

Re: You've got $10,000...

I'd start by tossing $1000 at some kind of blackface Fender... like a nice Twin, deluxe reverb or an old Bandmaster head.

Next on the list would be a 50 watt hiwatt or Orange OD120/OD80 or a new Reeves.

Maybe $2k for a UK built AC30 or something similar...

Then another $2k for a modern channel switching head, like a Fryette, Rivera or Bogner... probably not a Bogner though.

After that another $1500 on a Marshall of some sort. Be it a '70s JMP, an 800 or a Jubilee.

Maybe grab a couple of funky old small combos or repros... single tube Silvertones & the like.

Whatever's leftover would be poured into cabinets.

Another thought would be to combine the Marshall & Hiwatt funds into a Wizard!!!

That said I've already got three of those "dream" amps in my collection...

Re: You've got $10,000...

To be honest, I'd probably throw it all into parts so I can build my own creations. I'm trying to save money up now to build something very cool I have in mind.

If forced to buy other's work, I'd go with the following.
Splawn Competition
Splawn QuickRod
Splawn Cab
I'd probably get another AC30CCH to match the one I have plus another Port City cab to go with it loaded with Red Fangs or Alnico Blues

Re: You've got $10,000...

Marshall BluesBreaker

Blonde BandMaster with matching cab

Shed era Mark I Mesa head with matching cab

Re: You've got $10,000...

I'd most like have a two amp rig consisting of a high gain British voiced amp (bogner ecstasy el34), a high gain American amp (mesa boogie mark 5) and then some MIDI switcher, a rack mounted effects processor, and two corresponding cabinets to each...spend a week tweaking and then have everything saved and ready to tour.

Re: You've got $10,000...

Orange Retro 50
Orange Tunderverb 50
Mesa MKI
Marshall VintageModern
Victoria 35210
HiWatt Hi Gain 50

. . . all of a sudden 10K is not that much !

Haha... I guess the grass is always greener on the other side, huh? :D

Well, the Shiva does have some really nice cleans, but the XTC is just so much more adjustable when it comes to rhythm and lead overdriven tones. Is it wrong to want both? :?:
