You've got $10,000...

Re: You've got $10,000...

At the moment with my current tastes... whatever Jerry Cantrell has been using!

Re: You've got $10,000...

In addition to the 2204 I already own:

Fryette Pittbull Ultra Lead
H&K Triamp
Mesa Roadking

I´d purchase the matching Slant cabs if possible and keep my custom straight one, but could live without cabs if the funds weren´t there.

Re: You've got $10,000...

JCM 800 (Don't ask me which one; I haven't played any yet.)
Mesa/Boogie 4x12 cab w/ Vintage 30's
a Plexi reissue
a Marshall 4x12 w/ Greenbacks
a 5150, a Bogner, or a Soldano -- something American and high-gain

I know, but it was too good to pass up. :)

I figured as much, but ya never know who´s reading :beerchug:

After all, the last thing I need is for the unemployment office to know I already own hundreds of thousands of dollars of musical equipment :laugh2:

Re: You've got $10,000...

I like my current amps, the XTC, Matchless Chieftain, Jubilee, and Gibson Goldtone, so I'd add these.

Bogner Duende combo, vintage Fender Pro Reverb, 65 Amps London head, and a Fractal AxeFX.

Haha... I guess the grass is always greener on the other side, huh? :D

Well, the Shiva does have some really nice cleans, but the XTC is just so much more adjustable when it comes to rhythm and lead overdriven tones. Is it wrong to want both? :?:

Not at all. For all the options the Ecstasy has, I set 'em and forget 'em. That is, until i get tired of my tone and then it IS easy to change.

The Shiva has a simpler layout and the tone seems "purer" to my ears... unfettered with gadets and switches in favor of a few good power punches that are tonal trump cards. More of a classic feel and sound.

The Ecstasy has more options and allows you to access more extreme/modern tones more easily, and still sounds amazing. It's a Swiss Army Knife with hot glass front to back, but it may be too much for some.

Either way, they're both awesome amps. :D

You might wanna take a few minutes and watch this, then. ;) I'm a big fan of Jerry and this was a treat to view.

Hey thanks! I saw AIC 3 times last year (one was at a festival which i got in for free). Jerry had such a great sound live. It is the kind of tone i aim for when doing heavier stuff.
