Zeppelin - Rock & Roll

Re: Zeppelin - Rock & Roll

I liked your rendition -- it had more "modern" tone to it than the original.

Re: Zeppelin - Rock & Roll

Thanks for listening dude, i think maybe some voice will be perfect but i cant sing so...
Thanks again

Re: Zeppelin - Rock & Roll

Sounds great. I think it's got a more modern sound with more gain which is cool too.

You know what... you can sing. We all can. You may not like it or be proud of it but you can and should do it! Singing makes your playing more musically, it really forces you to listen and react/play better. You don't even have to let anyone else listen to it, but IMO it REALLY improves the way you sound, no matter what you're playing. You can even just hum musical phrases. It will increase your musical vocabulary, and ultimately enable you to play better.

I strongly ecourage EVERYONE to sing... just do it!

Re: Zeppelin - Rock & Roll

Well i think you are right, everyone should sing, i sing to the music but , record my singing??? i dont know, i may try with something easy but Rock And Roll has some very high notes, so i might sound a little (A LOT) out of pich

I couldn't agree more.. I don't have pipes but I began to sing a couple years ago (after playing guitar for about 3 years with complete silence as far as vocals).. and I've gotten better since then.. a lot better.. it takes practice just like your instrument.. but watch the spicy foods and soda

You got it! That's exactly the reason why we should all sing: To improve our pitch and increase the ability to play in tune - which allows you to go out on a limb/increase confidence and paly like you haven't played before.

As a side note, I used to cringe at the idea of singing. Then I woodsheded and built up my confidence - I HATED hearing my voice. Now, every time I go to the local jams at bars I sing a number of tunes. I'm not saying it sounds god, but it's still a good thing; so go for it.

Re: Zeppelin - Rock & Roll

Nice modern touch to an old classic. Cool listen. I've only got one pet peeve, and you're all gonna laugh at this. Everyone does. The playing, especially some of the solo sounds like Van Halen. After Eddie said this in 81, It took me a LONG time to forgive him, as Page was and still is my biggest inspiration. I'm not saying he's the best, just my favorite. Van Halen in a Led Zeppelin song makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck, LOL.

"Jimmy Page is an excellent producer. Led Zeppelin 1 and Led Zeppelin 2 are classics. As a player. He's very good in the studio. I never saw him play well live. He's very sloppy. He plays like he's got a broken hand and he's two years old. But if you put out a good album and play like a two-year-old live. What's the purpose?" - Guitar World, January 1981

Re: Zeppelin - Rock & Roll

i like it a lot, you play it very well, but i personally dont like what all the other people who have replyed said was good, the modern tone to it. i love the song, i LLOVE his tone on it, youre tone is a bit too metal'ish for this song, but the playing is very very good.

though overall, good job on it. i was listening to youre other things like estranged. i like that too, maybe less delay.. but the enter sandman i thought was perfect, sounded exactly like it. i couldnt tell which part was you playing and which part was the background music thingything

Re: Zeppelin - Rock & Roll

Thanks for the comments dudes!

75lespaul, i knew eddie bashed page before, and i dont agree with him but to say that my playing reminded you to van halen is really an extreme compliment to me, i looove eddies phrasing and eddies sound, but really dont play any of Van Halen's song, so it wasnt calculated...Thanks for the comments!

And Metallicax|x|, thanks too! but i really didnt like the original tone very much (yeah blasfemy!!) but im being honest, so it was sorta like an experiment, thanks for your comment tough,

Thanks again for listening and the critics!
