Same exact serial, date stamp, and model no. as mine...

Duncan support said it's fake as the serial and model no. don't match.

    Damn!

Yeah the self cutting screws look off, too.
    Sorry

    • I have several legit Duncans, e.g. ones MJ wound and Seymour himself wound, that have those types of screws in them. But the serial number not checking out was certainly a bigger clue.

Are you trying to get a Distortion, or a Custom 5? I'm sure I could find a spare Custom, Custom Custom or Custom 5 I could sell you one of mine that are legit. I have an old MJ Distortion also, but I was kind of keeping it. But I'm not really using it, so there's that.
The Custom 5 I bought already and just awaiting shipment.

The TB6 was an "opportunity" buy. Some dude was selling it at a good price so I bought it on the spot, even if I already have an SH6. Now I know why I got it at a "good" price, it's a fake!

Now I'm worried about the incoming C5.

I grabbed that picture from the internet because the one I bought looks exactly like that including the stickers and serial, only the date is different - same year and month, different day

So if that picture is fake, then my incoming C5 would be fake

          fonts look good.
the label printing is a bit of center and more to the bottom, but could be normal. My PUs are mostly more off center to the top of the label.
i say you‘re good to go
          That's a relief! Finger's crossed it's a genuine article!

That's the problem when (1) one is overconfident as being super experienced with his fave pickups, and (2) the counterfeit stuff being supper close to the genuine.

Surely I will be more careful next time.

You think the TB-14 looks good though?

                • I was a bit scared, when I saw your latest pictures because of the square bobbin hole WITHOUT the surrounding circle! But I checked my trembuckers and this is normal. Only the standard sized bobbins have the additional circle.
                  have fun with it!
so SH-5, SH-11 and SH-15 or the hybrid too?

Duncan Support confirmed it as well. I'm happy

And yes, I have the Custom, Custom Custom, 59/Custom Hybrid and Alternative 8

All are in Les Pauls except for the C2 which didn't sound good to me except for a super strat. Tried it in the middle position on my Nightswan and it was way too dark.

I think that pickup is meant for 25.5 scale super Strats - Floyd or fixed bridge. Maybe a brighter tonewood as well

Maybe it's just me and my preference for bright bridge pups.

                        • the cc isnt overly bright obviously, but thats why i wouldnt use it in any other position since itll be even less bright

                          • Hello people,

I am shocked at how good quality fake Seymour Duncan pickups are. I bring some more information about the fake TB-4, since I have a legit TB-4 and I was able to compare them in detail.
                            Let's go to the pics:

Gotta say, the differences are minute. I bet there’s been more differences when a dude in SD was having a bad day.
