Fender Classic Series 70s vs. Original 70s strats

Re: Fender Classic Series 70s vs. Original 70s strats Got me some! Played a couple in a store and went with a '76 transition model. All original apart from the pots, nut and I suspect the 5-way switch wasn't there originally. Another contender was a '79/'80 that was really lightweight like the...

    NGD: NOS Ibanez Iceman ICT700

Re: NGD: NOS Ibanez Iceman ICT700 Yup, but in black with creme bevels: Switched out the D-Activators for a X2N and Paf Pro combo. Sounds killer!

    NPD... ×2

NPD... ×2 So I'm pretty much done as far as pedals go. All I was left craving for were a compressor, phaser and those elusive fuzz and old school rock tones. Tried the Hoof, the Tone Reaper, the Musket, the Java Boost, the '69 MKII fuzz among others. All of them, although great at what they...

Lets see those pedal boards you are using right now.

Re: Lets see those pedal boards you are using right now. My current board. Basically, the dirt/boost section is the only part that is variable although I'm thinking about adding a phaser (which means dropping something else).

    LE American Standard Doublecut Tele

http://intl.fender.com/en-NL/guitars/telecaster/limited-edition-american-standard-double-cut-telecaster-maple-fingerboard-butterscotch-blonde/ Never seen this as far as I can remember. Looks prett rad. Anybody know if they've done that before? Don't wanna bash here, but it kinda amazes me how...

Fender American Deluxe HSH OLP vs Fender Artist Signature Dave Murray HSH

Been thinking about getting a new strat for some time now. A while ago, I was looking at some "vintage" 70 strats, but was kinda talked out of it and was looking at the Classic 70's MIM series. Having a reasonable budget though, I abandoned the 70's strat idea and found these 2 to be quite...

Looking at wah pedals. Any suggestions?

Re: Looking at wah pedals. Any suggestions? It's here! Seems like a steal for 130 bucks. Have it set on the Tomas/USA setting currently. Very smooth and warm. Kinda reminds me of the Marvin Gaye - Let's Get it On kinda sound. Haven't really tried other settings nor playing something else...

Looking at wah pedals. Any suggestions?

Incredibly, in some 20 years of playing, I've never stepped on of these things (not sober anyways). Always kinda feared it may be too distracting and of myself overdoing it, but hey, why deprive myself of having some fun? Some details to kinda narrow the choice down: Favourite wah wahers: Dave...

    DR Strings. What gives?

So been testing my new Black Winter set and decided to try some different brand strings. After a refret some time ago, my luthier strung it up with some Ernie Balls which are great (great sound, no buzz at low action), but a little slinky feeling with a 10-46 gauge. Strung my Les Paul up with a...

Black Winter owner.... Feedback so far????

Re: Black Winter owner.... Feedback so far???? So, got my Black Winter set today. Takes me right back to the good ol' days of obscure tape trading :). Here they are in the LPC (could use a little dusting). Didn't really get around to play with pickup height too much as I didn't have too...

Fender Classic Series 70s vs. Original 70s strats

Not really in the market for another guitar (I'm in denial here I guess), but I was wondering on peoples views on these. There's some love/hate situation when it comes down to 70s guitars (particularly Fender and Gibson). Even though great guitarists (like Hendrix and Blackmore) played these...

    Your backup pickups?

Recently, I sold a lot of gear I used so sparingly, that I just couldn't justify keeping it. Among the stuff I sold were a lot of pickups. I kept my Full Shred bridge, Dimarzio X2N and EMG 81 & 85 set though. The Full Shred might return to my Jackson, if one day I decide to tune it down again...
