3 perfect guitars

super rad stuff

Skaforlifeologist
ok, i want to know; what would be YOUR DIFINITIVE GUITAR COLLECTION, PERIOD. 3 electric guitars, any type, any whatever; 1 acoustic, any type/size/whatever.

my own picks:
-some sort of all maple 335 type semi-hollow(preferably gibson:nana:) with a bigsby, an a8 paf-wind in the bridge and a gibson p-90 with a2/a5 in the neck featuring phase, series, and coil cut for bridge push pulls.
-a maple-capped les paul with an a2 jb or similar, and a3 '59 in the neck featuring artie/page type wiring.
(this last one is a bit of a non-existant too expensive dreamed up super guitar that won't happen for a loooong time..)
-an hsh super-tele with H-t-H and a wilkinson, a maple-capped mahogany body, and bolt on maple/ebony neck. pickups would be custom8, a2 pro tele lead, and jazzN a3. would have totally tricked out wiring.
-takamine jumbo all maple acoustic(i forget the name) with an SD single coil hole-mount pickup

edit: it's actually 4, ya need an acoustic i guess!:smack:

I have it. BC Rich Bich Supreme, Mockingbird Supreme and Wave Supreme. Only that that would make that better would be for my Bich to be a 10 strings but it's close enough. Throw my V in there too. Four guitars.

Re: 3 perfect guitars

1. my equator instruments build: true thinline hollowbody w/ a set of duncan 59s

2. the strat i built myself: swamp ash with all rosewood neck and duncan SSL-1-SSL1-SSL5

3. my spalted maple tele: home built, mahogany body, all maple neck, duncan 59n and QPb

Re: 3 perfect guitars

If I have to choose 3 I suppose u mean electrics.. My Ibby SA 120 ( not any other IbbY). A strat (SSS config) and a tele thinline or an ES 355 style.

If it is not electrics and also includes acoustics.. then I would probably drop the ES 355/ thinline tele for a acoustic.

Re: 3 perfect guitars

3 perfect electrics?

-59 Les Paul Standard
-Early 50's Tele w/ Broadcaster bridge
-Late 50's Strat (did they make. M/M neck without the V shape?)

Seriously, the more I play my Strat, Tele and LP the more I realize that they really got it right early on. Of course that assumes no bum wood or pickups.

Re: 3 perfect guitars

1) LP Std, with a honeyburst flame maple top, a pair of '59's, and the 4 push-pull Jimmy Page system.

2) 355 in ebony, with a C5/'59N and Artie's coil-swap mod.

3) SG Std in cherry, with a '57 Classic (A4) and a Phat CatN (A5/A4), with coil cut & phase on the bridge PU.

Perfection!

i knew you'd post exactly this:34:
btw you forgot to add series switches to #s 2 and 3:smash:;)

Re: 3 perfect guitars

a '58 les paul
a '60 strat
a '51 esquire

for the acoustic id want a 12 fret 000/om red spruce/brazillian rw with really light scaloped bracing

oh and i want a '59 p bass too

Re: 3 perfect guitars

For me right now, it's:

- Super strat
- High powered LP
- HxH tele w/splits

These cover everything I need to play at the moment.

Re: 3 perfect guitars

i knew you'd post exactly this.

They're all you really need.

Sure I'd like a vintage '59 LP Burst, a '58 335 & a '61 SG, but I think your survey was meant to be based in reality, and not dependent on winning the lottery. You probably should have said, "Three that you could conceivably afford to purchase," which makes it much more interesting.

really, it's whatever you have, want, can think of, can afford, etc. whatever your own perfect collection is, it's not really set in stone or anything just whatever you want to put:D
