I like using my compressor on clean sounds but now when I'm using either my duality or fishman actives, my volume drops. When I'm using passives, my volume seems on unity gain or louder. My compressor has only two knobs volume and compression. Question is, can I still use a compressor when on actives?

Yes, you can. But compressors aren't set and forget. They react to the input signal. Either turn down the compression knob, or turn up the gain knob the raise to level of the compressed sound.
Your actives are probably higher output than your passives. That makes the compression work more/harder.
