Adding some Growl??

I was doing a comparo on my LPs today as I have to thin down. My Burny is amazing as it plays so good. I finally figured the difference tonally as well. It has a growl to it. When I pick it accoustically, it sounds throaty. Whereas others, such as the Epi Elite has a bit of a plink to it. When plugged up, it growls.
Im guessing that most of this is in the wood, but can this be improved with a bridge change or anything?? The Elites are quality parts, but the string saddles on the bridge are tall tabs. I dont know if that makes any diff. It sustains great and plays great and sounds great with the BBQ in it, but just not as beautifully menacing..

My Dean Soltero has a similar growl, but nowhere near as beastly.. Its similar to my explorer.

Any suggestions, or is it all wood??

Im going to try to wrap the strings over the tailpiece . I dunno if a bridge will make a diff or not. trying to see if I can get more wood vibration

One thing to try is an old Tele picker's trick.

Lower your action untill it almost buzzes and set your neck bow almost flat. This is what gives those old country tele tones some of the growl you hear on Bakersfield tawng.

I set up my Thinline, Esquire, and '62 RI strat like that and they all have a nice growl to them. If your right hand is light, you can play buzz free and bend pretty far even on skinny, low Fender vintage style wire. The Gibson style wire makes it even easier.
