I know alexi went to ESP but take a look at this jackson custom shop
star shaped model:

Those sure look like alexi's scythe inlays.
what does everyone think of this?
The inlays are sterling silver shafts with MOP blades.
That guitar was built for a customer in the custom shop. No "ripoff" here, as the customer designed the inlays himself.
And even if there were: ESP has been ripping american companies off for over 20 years. Here 30 secs worth of examples
"Concorde" headstock
Sharkfin Inlays
Rhoads = Laiho
King V = DV-8
Star = Takahashi
Flying V = Amott V
SG = Viper
Ron Wood Tele
...
... I´d be GLAD to see them finally fighting back with ESPs own methods. And I´m glad that International law is starting to make it harder and harder for ESP to do this, Gibson, Fender and most rrominently Jackson have been invo0lved in monthly lawsuits with ESP for decades. ESP almost certainly has a whole room of filing cabinets just for "Cease and Desist" orders (Explorer, Concorde Headstock, Fender Headstock, Gibson headstock, Flying V, Firebird, Demon, Sharkfins........)

That´s what I can´t understand, to this day. Americans are constantly bitching and moaning about how crappy life has become, and to a good extent it´s true. No decent jobs, no decent pay, to little this, social system is long gone....
But then they turn around and buy an ESP. ESPs ONLY claim to existence until the early-mid 90s was that they could effectively rip off EVERY US design and people bought them, because they were CHEAPER.
Now that the US companies (Most notably Jackson and Gibson, Fender "went Import" early enough to escape rather unscathed) have been weakened by 20 years of this onslaught, ESP has THEIR reputation, and commands what THEY should be costing.. Where the US companies try to make ends meet, and constantly end up sacrificing more quality as a result. So people keep buying Edwards, further weakening Gibson, to the point where they´re forced to produce the (crappy) faded series just to compete. These have even more corners cut, so the Edwards gets bought again.....next will be the Gibson "DIY-finish" Series....and then they´ll still buy edwards...until ther is no more Gibson, and then an Edwards LP will ALSO cost upside of 1000$
Ibanez isn´t much better, but at least they started their own contributhions to the guitar world mid ´80s with the RG and JEM. I´m not saying the quality is worse (then again, Ibanez...), exactly the opposite, on Par with Jackson in ESPs case. But I know why it got there, and THAT pisses me off. Almost as much as when I see grown people supporting it, then complaining about how ****ed up society and life in general is. YOUR ACTIONS helped put it there, Amigo

Again, even if it WERE a ripoff, serves ESP right. :13:
BTW: "Death Kelly" is the proper name for that model, because the back half is that of a Death Angel and the front half (ie. towards the neck) is that of a Kelly :saeek::headbang:
