It's still just primed! Should be tomorrow, maybe 2 days, until it's painted.

Here's a question. What can't be painted on a guitar body? Like the pup holes? The hole where the pots' wiring goes? The neck pocket?

dont paint the neck pocket but the rest can be. I would suggest shielding the cavities too.

Alright, thanks! The neck pocket was primed, that's not awful is it? can it be sanded off? Or just leave it?

Thanks, once again! Wow that ships from Israel. That's gonna be quite the while until it comes! I'll actually looks into getting some! I've heard that you can just line the inside with like the foil stuff? Sorry I'm looking to go so cheap! :lol: But no worries. I'm going super cheap now, but getting nothing permanent so when I become a famous rockstar, I can upgrade it! :headbang:

Now as this thread was intended for when I made it, I must bring this back up. Can you, or anyone, actually put together a specific list of parts I'll need? Like I said I would like it to come from Guitar center but that's probably not possible, so anywhere that the shipping is low so I can get more stuff! It really has to be the cheapest of the cheap unfortunately.. I don't have a budget, just cheap. Like the pots and stuff is like cheap for good enough ones and all, so no need to skimp out on them or anything, and I have wire. like 3 ft of every color of the rainbow. Mostly it's just the pups that need to be cheap. I probably couldn't tell you the difference between OK/Almost not OK ones and good ones, as I'm really just starting to play. Sorry about asking so many questions and such, and sorry once again for going so cheap atm.

so......1 volume pot, 1 tone pot, capacitor, 3way switch, jack and pickups?

Exactly, but like what pots, what capacitor, what jack and what pickups? I can probably figure out what Jack and what switch because there are only like 1 kind that will fit through the whole for the switch and I think most generic jacks will work(?)

Alright, here. What needs to change? I have no idea about the capacitor, the pups are probably so bad I could even tell the difference, I know not if the pots will work, both are the same pots for tone and volume and I don't know if that matters.. Is that jack alright? And the switch? I'd rather the single coil not be white but...

Nevermind! My father just stopped at another local guitar shop that we've never been to, and they have pots, switches, pups, everything. The guitar person there said that he had two pups that he thinks would work good in it, a Gibson Humbucker(????) and a Strat single for 50$ for the two, both are supposedly used but still have the boxes. The 5$ a piece for the Made in USA something or other pots that he said would work, then switches and such.

Oh good that was easy then. The pickups should be more than fine for a first axe/build.

Alrighty, to save from rushing, The guitar is getting painted over the weekend! My neighbors who actually professionally do car body work, said they'll have enough time over the weekend to do everything without rushing!

I know, I have to stop changing my mind, but how would something like this sound? Is it a bad combo? Are either of the pickups alone any good? Here and Here.

Alright, I just got those economy pickups. They're rated "OK" and I really just don't have the money for anything more currently... It's just pickups so I'll just get new ones at a later time. I got a good deal on ebay for what seems to be the exact same ones I posted, brand new in the boxes.
