First go.. OD-1 Orange mode..

Always wanted a Marshall ..this one specifically... for years and years. I do have a little experience with them. My friend has one at his studio & I've played a few others here and there over the years. The Satriani version as well, but this is the one that grabs me by the balls :D

Put simply, it is a tone machine... and while you will hear the usual whining about how it's not got "that classical Marshall tone", "jack of all trades, master of none" etc (eh???...it sounds like a killer ****ing Marshall from miles away :laugh2:) or 'it's this or that' cribbing ...it's THE Marshall to have as far as I'm concerned...all the classic tones are in there ....and a lot more. It could'nttick more of my boxes if it tried ...just an awesome amp. Period. I know a couple of guys on here have one ...80's_Thrash_Metal comes to mind for one. And I've alway like the killer tones he gets out of his (all his amps actually :lmao:)

I would'nt call it an absolute dream amp of mine (that's probably a SLO 100 or a Dual rectifier ..especially when I was younger) but it is an amp I've nonetheless lusted after for years and I've always wanted a Marshall. Cuz it's a Marshall :D

Also for some reason US made amps are priced absolutely ridiculously here by the time you're done with transport costs & nearly a 100% customs duty eh, forget it ......whereas the UK-made stuff is priced about the same as it is in the UK (Anderton's, GAK, Gear 4 Music etc) and hence still kinda affordable :bigthumb:

Says the guy who likes tweaking modelers for days :lmao:

You'd probably have tons of fun w/ it ...the hours would just fly by :lmao:
:
Tbh, despite all the knobs it's actually pretty quick/easy to dial in...sweet tones in minutes.

Here's the same thing on the OD-2 Red mode...

Nice find though phantasmagoria. in the marshall forum, a lot say this is the best marshall.

Thanks...it's def my favourite :bigthumb:

Though I will say a loud Plexi or heavily boosted /modded 800 are pretty sweet
too..

Having said that I always prefer to get everything from the amp w/e possible...and this amp can't be beaten for that :bigthumb:

Killer sounding amp and a hell of a lot of fun to play /mess around with. Plugged it into my other Laney 2x12 w/ Eminence Swamp Thang & Manowar (Swamp Thang mic'd)

OD1 Orange Mode again..

Wonder what tubes are in here..sound like Shuggy's.

A lot of folk suggest swapping out the stock tubes for JJ's..but it sounds pretty good already.

I might still give that a go though...just to see the difference :laugh2: Got a bunch of JJ's lying around (EL34's/6L6's/ 12AX7's & others) more than enough to completely retube it ...so why not?

Going to run it into The new Greenback cab next (gotta watch out w/ the volume though...cuz 50W cab/100W amp :18:)

After a quick look the stock tubes do seem to be JJ's after all ..at the least the El34's.

So nothing to do there :bigthumb:

New Marshall JVM ...followed by my new Line 6 DT50 :bigthumb:

The JVM is on it's highest gain (OD 2- Red) mode (had the gain @ about 12 o'clock)

The Line 6 has more of a US flavor in Class AB Pentode configuration ..while Class A Triode is more in Vox/Marshall territory. (Sounds great in either configuration imo) :bigthumb:

Stupid cat rubbed up against the mic after I'd taken pains to get it just right.. :laugh2:

**** it....

With my Grote semi-hollow on he neck pup...Greenback 25's...

Time for a new backing track..

Also tweaked the EQ for a darker tone...it can get pretty bright w/ the Greenbacks.. albeit in a good way :bigthumb:..

Thanks! I think it's awesome. There are plenty of great sounding Marshall's out there, but for the higher gain tones I like they mostly need to be boosted/modded/pushed hard in some way.

With this one..everything comes from the box & it all sounds and feels fantastic :bigthumb:

And no, it's actually no more complicated to dial in than any of my other amps....if anything, it's easier than a lot of them.

OD1-Red mode w/ my Creamback 65 loaded 1x12..everything else same as the last clip..

Fun to play and tone for days :bigthumb:

$200 shipped from PRC

.....& it plays & sounds like this after a righteous pickup swap (not absolutely necessary but a definite big step up)

...and looks like this (real "tiger maple" top not a veneer):

.. what more can I say about it :bigthumb:
