Very proud D60 owner here! Kicked myself hard for a long time for not getting one when they first launched in 05, then last year I was hawking craigs/reverb/ebay like usual and one showed up for just over a grand in like-new condition,,,,,,,,and even better it was one of the first dozen units from 05, of course with the choke. We made a deal and I no longer have to kick myself to sleep every night.
Absolute crunch monster!
One of my favorite players, David Torn, sounds amazing with them. I never had a chance to try them yet.
What was Fryette's first product? Back on the Plexi Palace forum in the early 2Ks his name started popping up, but don't remember...
I have the PS-2 and love it. I just ordered the Power Load IR and look forward to messing with that as well. One of my Kemper rigs is powered by a Fryette LXII which is an amazing power amp.
What do you use your PS-2 for the most? It does so much but many just get it for the attenuation/load.
I enjoy it for a the reasons you said but I think I like it most for the line and loop. It can be used so many ways and even if you only used it one of the many ways, it would be worth every penny in my opinion. It is a great piece of gear. I am considering getting the 100 watt version once they become available as I really love the big glass. I do wish the 100 watt could be split into two basic power sections but that isn't possible.
Sure wish I could locate the recent moment on their podcast where he explains why the effects loop is much "cleaner"(my quote, not his) than they always are in a normal tube head.
It had to do with not having to do the whole reduction then make-up gain thing iirc, but he went into detail of course.
