Anyone here use single coils for metal?

Re: Anyone here use single coils for metal?

I've been using my Strat with a QP in it. That's why I asked... it sounds great. Very thick yet bright and snappy for metal.

Tony Iommi and his P90's, Ritchie Blackmore and his Quarter Pounders, Jimmy Page and his Tele...

Granted these are 70's metal icons not modern day, but you can be heavy with singles, especially P90s!
THIS !!! I thought of Iommi and Blackmore. I loved Iommi tone in Master of Reality and that was p 90s.

Don't bring a knife to a gun fight. Not that someone will point out that some people have beaten guns with knives, but its just not really the best tool for the job. sure, you can try and drive a ten-penny nail with a tack hammer , but why not just use a great big ball peen?

Imagine an American Tele loaded with pure vintage 64 grey bottom single coilz. Well, that's a Bowie Knife. It's faster & more dangerous than any gun. Plus, you can shave your face with it, cut salami, open presents, build a shed, never runs out of ammo, can cross rivers, totally noiseless etc. The secret of steel lies in a good old blade, not in a gun. Throws any humbucker in the dust.
