Looking to buy a Peavey classic 20. Simple, straightforward, etc. Also, hopefully very light, since I have a bad back. I need to know that it is very light, hopefully less than 30 lbs.
I have a Classic 50 - 4x10. Weighs a ton! Or 63 lbs according to a website. I just looked it up the other day. As soon as I find the site, I'll let you know.
It also has tons of tone, on the upside. I added pop-out casters to make it more mobile. I wonder if there is a forklift option you could get.
i dont know, but i have an old classic 50 from '75....weighs alot but i can handle it most often. Just wrap your arms around it and lift with your knees.
The classic 20 really shouldn't be that heavy in comparison, you shouldnt have any problems carrying that around, unless you plan lifting it for several blocks...
I have a Classic 20, but I don't have a working bathroom scale. Sorry.
I will say that it's a LOT lighter than lifting a 5 gallon container of water. If you could carry two Vox Pathfinders in one hand, that may be a close approximation.
If it's any help, I'm only 5'4" but can carry it easily, whereas I have to stop and put down the water container or cylinder of cooking gas 20 ft. after I take it out from the car.
unless you plan on using the classic 20 as a portable amp or something that needs to be really really really light for a special purpose, weight shouldn't be a factor in your decision to buy one....
